Research Experience:
Over the course of several years, have gained valuable experience working in college laboratories conducting
experiments related to both chemistry and medical laboratory classes.
Throughout this time, have had the opportunity to work with a variety of medical and chemistry instruments, such
as the centrifuge, Spectrophotometer, hemocytometer, agar plates, MacConkey plates, urinary test strips, gram
stain instruments, hemocue glucose, and cholesterol measuring devices, among others.
This experience, which spanned from Fall 2009 to Spring 2017, has provided with a solid foundation in
laboratory procedures and techniques.
In addition to working with various instruments, have also developed expertise in handling bodily fluids like urine
and blood, excelled in urinalysis classes and received further training in disease diagnosis within the clinical
laboratory career field.
Courses in microbiology equipped me with the skills to perform tasks such as conducting gram stains,
inoculating agar plates to culture bacteria, and distinguishing between different bacterial types.
This training, which took place in Spring 2018, enhanced my understanding of laboratory practices.
Subsequent classes in hematology and clinical chemistry further expanded knowledge base. In the hematology
class, delved into topics such as red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and various hematology tests
including cell differential count, hemoglobin test, hematocrit test, RBC count, WBC count, Platelet count,
prothrombin test, and more.
Meanwhile, the clinical chemistry class provided insights into proteins, vitamins, kidney diseases, lung diseases,
and practical experiments like glucose testing. These experiences, which occurred in Fall 2018 and Fall 2019
respectively, have been instrumental in shaping career path in the field of laboratory science.
