2. Recently, Vietnam experiences changes in its export structure. Previously, Vietnam export
more agriculture products (for example, rice). Currently, his key export products are electronical
machinery, equipments. Based on the perspectives of comparative advantage, gravity model,
trade integration, study the Vietnamese export dynamics and provide the explaination of this
shift.
What you need to do:
Step 1: Group Allocation
Spend some time networking with fellow students during and outside workshops, with the goal
to form a group for this Assignment (nb: 4- 6 group members is recommended). You will need to
form a team and self-assign into one team.
It is recommended that an initial meeting be held to assign a Team Leader, set some basic
rules/expectations (grade aspirations, contributions, etc.), and discuss the assignment brief in
detail before allocating tasks among members. Each team member should take notes during
meetings.
Step 2: Research conduct
Conduct research by using the below eight stages (see the recommended text for detailed
research conducting stage descriptions):
1: Identify and develop your topic
2: Do a preliminary search for information
3: Locate materials
4: Evaluate your sources
5: Make notes
6: Write your paper
7: Cite your sources properly
8: Proofread
For example, the first stage is to identify and develop your topic. Once you have identified your
topic, it may help to state it as a question. For example, if you are interested in finding out about
the volume of exporting rice in Vietnam, you might pose the question "What are the causes of
export rice and agricultural products changes?" By posing your subject as a question you can
more easily identify the main concepts or keywords to be used in your research.
