THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPONS OF THE DEVIL

TEXT - JOHN 10:10 The thief (Devil) comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come
that they may have life, and have it to the full.

The Bible tells us that the devil comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. Many Christians today do not fully
understand the meaning of this verse, so they think to kill is through motor accidents or gunfire, and likewise to
steal is through robbery or taking belongings. However, to destroy is not just through violence or fighting,
although it is related."
But if you follow this teaching carefully, you will have a full understanding of this passage. Before we were born,
the devil has been destroying lives. This is why it seems as if our generation is becoming more wicked and
corrupt.

Genesis 2:7-16
7,Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his
nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

8,Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man
he had formed.

9,,The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing
to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree
of the knowledge of good and evil.

10,,A river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into four
headwaters.

11,,The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah, where
there is gold.

12,(The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin and onyx are also there.)

13,The name of the second river is the Gihon; it winds through the entire land of Cush.

14,The name of the third river is the Tigris; it runs along the east side of Ashur. And the
fourth river is the Euphrates.

15,The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care
of it.

16,And the Lord God* *commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the
garden;

*Genesis 2:17-23*
*but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat
from it you will certainly die.”*

*18,The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper
suitable for him.”*

*19,Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds
in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever
the man called each living creature, that was its name.*

*20,So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild
animals. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.*

*21,So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping,
he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh.*

*22,Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he
brought her to the man.*

*23,The man said,This is now bone of my bones**

and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman for she was taken out of man.

Now, this passage tells us how God created everything, both great and small, and He created a man called Adam
to have dominion over everything He had created. However, God told Adam that there was one tree in the
middle of the garden that he should not touch or eat from.
Remember (verse 16) says God commanded Adam that he could eat freely from all the fruit in the garden.
This freedom is what God has given to man, and that is how God wants it to be for every man.God also said that
Adam could not be alone without a helper, so God caused him to sleep and made a helper from Adam's flesh
and bone.
Imagine how sweet life would be if we had the opportunity to live such a life today. But why can't we? Follow
me, and the reason will shock you.

Genesis 3:1-6
*1,Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to
the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”*

*2,The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,*

*3,but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you
must not touch it, or you will die.’ ”*

4“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman.

5“For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God,
knowing good and evil.

6,When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also
desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was
with her, and he ate it.

Now, look at what just happened here. The snake (devil) came to Eve; he did not go with a gun or bomb,
neither did he go as a robber, but with a word: Did God say? When the woman opened up, he deceived the
woman and made God a liar in her presence . She ate,and Also gave her husband and both of them ate .This is
how the devil operates today in our generation, but the reason why ours is worse is because the devil is now
working more than he did in the early days.
Read *Genesis 3:7-13*
7,Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig
leaves together and made coverings for themselves.*

*8,Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the
cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.*

*9,But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?*

10,He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”

11,And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded
you not to eat from?

12,The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate
it.

13,Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The
serpent deceived me, and I ate.

Look at what happened here: the devil has been destroying lives since before we were born. When God created
Adam and Eve, they did not hide themselves from God for even one day. But immediately after the devil
deceived them, they began to run away from God.
This is what we are facing today in our generation: because of our sin, we are still in darkness."

Before they ate the fruit, they were enjoying the life that God gave them in the light. But immediately after they
disobeyed God, they hid themselves in darkness.

Genesis 3:14-24
14,So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this,*
*“Cursed are you above all livestock*
*and all wild animals!*
*You will crawl on your belly*
*and you will eat dust*
*all the days of your* *life.*

*15,And I will put enmity*

*between you and the woman,*
*and between your offspring and hers;*
*he will crush your head,*
*and you will strike his heel.”*

**16,To the woman he said,*

*“I will make your pains in* *childbearing very severe;*
*with painful labor you* *will give birth to children.*
*Your desire will be for your husband,*
*and he will rule over you.”*

*17,To Adam he said,* “ *Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about* *which I
commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’*
*“Cursed is the ground because of you;*
*through painful toil you will eat food from it*
*all the days of your life.*

*18,it will produce thorns and thistles for you,*

*and you will eat the plants of the field.*

*19,By the sweat of your brow*

*you will eat your food*
*until you return to the* *ground,*
*since from it you were* *taken;*
*for dust you are*
*and to dust you will return.”*

20,Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living.*

21,The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.*

22,And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must
not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”

23,So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had
been taken.

24,After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a
flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

Look at what the devil has done to Adam and Eve. Remember that the reason why God created Adam and Eve
and gave them dominion over all things is because He loves them. God did not want them to lack anything, but
the devil destroyed their plans, stole them from the garden, and ultimately led to their downfall.

This is what John 10:10 means.

Now let's address the main problem we are facing today and how the devil is killing, stealing, and destroying.

The most powerful weapons the devil uses to destroy life and destiny in our generation now are:

1,Lust of the flesh

2,Lust of the eyes

3,Pride of life

4,Sexual immorality

5,Masturbation

6,Bisexuality

7,Homosexuality

If you engage in any of the behaviors listed above, you need to repent and depart from them
before it's too late.

1 John 2:15-17
15,Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is
not in them.

16,For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes
not from the Father but from the world.

17,The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.

Verse 16 defines what the world system consists in with three parallel phrases:_ _our fleshly desires, our desire for
things we see, and the boastful pride of life. Let’s unpack each of those phrases. When John talks about the_
*“lust of the flesh*
”[a] the word translated *“lust* ” means “ *inordinate desire*

[b] In our vocabulary, “ *lust”* is usually taken in reference to *sexual desire* and not chocolate cake. Here it
includes but is not limited to sexual lust. The etymology of the word in Greek is *“to be hot after something.”*
In this context, *lust* is any sinful desire that is contrary to the will of God.

What is your *“flesh* ” in this statement? It is human nature corrupted by sin. Apart from the grace of God, the
flesh offers a bridgehead to sin in our life. *“Lust of the flesh”* describes what it means to live life dominated by
the senses. In the extreme, it would include “ *gluttonous in food , . . .* slavish in pleasure, lustful and lax in
morals, selfish in the use of possessions; regardless of all the spiritual values; extravagant in the gratification of
material desires.”

[C] The “ *lust of the flesh”* is all desires centered in your nature without regard to the will of God. It is that
which constantly fights against the things of God in your life. The lust of the flesh is contrary to the desire to do
the will of God. In
Galatians 5:19-24
19,The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;*

20,idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions,
factions*

21,and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this
will not inherit the kingdom of God.*

22,But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,*

23,gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.*

24,Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.*

In this passage we see probably the most familiar of all passages on the flesh versus the Spirit motif. Paul lists
several examples of the deeds of the flesh followed by the familiar fruit of the Spirit. The contrast is stark!

Those who are_ *“loving the world”* and giving in to the “ *lust of the flesh”* can expect to see these kinds of
attitudes and actions_ _characterizing their lives. On the other hand, those who are not loving the world system
but rather are controlled by the_ _Holy Spirit can expect to see the fruit of the Spirit in their lives._ _As difficult
as it is, Paul instructs us in
Romans 13:11-14
11,And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from
your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.

12,The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on
the armor of light.

13,Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual
immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.*

14,Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the
desires of the flesh.

“ *put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh.”*

Calvin used this Pauline passage to define the lust of the flesh:_
“ _When worldly men, desiring to live softly and delicately, are intent only on their own_ _convenience_

Calvin is spot on here because much of our flesh craves its own convenience. As the great Puritan Richard
Sibbes said:_ “ _This flesh of mine is ready to betray me into the hands of the world and of the devil,_ _therefore
there must be a marvelous strong guard. I must not suffer my affections to rove

The second phrase, “ *lust of the eyes,*

_means we desire what we see. In Scripture, the eyes are the primary organ of perception and often the principal
avenue of temptation. We see that in the case of David who saw, Bathsheba, lusted after her, and later committed
adultery with her. David should have read and practiced

*Job 31:1: “I have made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully on a woman.”*

As in the former phrase *“lust of the flesh* ,” so here again sexual lust is only a fraction of the meaning of the
phrase._ In (Matthew 6:22,)_Jesus asserts that the eye is the lamp of the body_ . *“If your eye is bad, your
whole body will be full of darkness.”_Your eyes are closely related to your heart!_

Proverbs 17:24* says that *“wisdom is in the presence of one who has understanding, but the eyes of a
fool are on the ends of the earth.
_The Psalmist says of the arrogant in_
Psalm 73:7, *“Their eye bulges from fatness; the imaginations of their heart run riot.

Read carefully so that you may understand the meaning of these weapons and how the devil uses them to
destroy lives and destinies.

And this study is not for unbelievers alone because when I saw the plight of people struggling with those things,
I saw that 80% of Christians are battling with these things, and the devil has put them into captivity so that they
won't be able to carry out God's purpose in their life.

But I pray for you that as you are reading this right now, God will set you free.

(1), What is the Lust of the Flesh?*

The lust of the flesh is any temptation or sin that appeals to our carnal and physical appetites. It is
any sin that gives people sinful pleasure and attempts to satisfy our emotional senses and physical
desires through sin. Examples of the lust of the flesh include sexual sins such as fornication, adultery,
bisexuality, masturbation, homosexuality, etc. Other examples of the lust of the flesh include drug
addiction, alcoholism, gluttony, physical violence, materialism, gossip, idolatry, and so forth.

Galatians 5:19-21 says: 'Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity,
sensuality,
(20) idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions,
(21) envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those
who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.'

Look at what verse 21 says: those who do such things will not inherit (enter) the kingdom of God. Brethren, if
you do not enter the kingdom of God, your place is hellfire.

The reason why the devil uses those weapons is because he cannot bear the pains and the cries of the last day
(The Day of Judgment) with his agents, and he also knows that once you keep doing those things, you are his
agent already. What he will do is kill your spiritual life, steal you away from God's presence, and destroy your life
and destiny.

(2)what is lust of the eyes?

The lust of the eyes is to look at things for which we are forbidden to see. The lust of the eyes includes visualizing
and fantasizing about things God has forbidden us from thinking about; it is coveting and desiring to look at
something that you should not be looking at."

"For example, Jesus says that adultery is not only a sin that one commits through physical sexual contact. Instead,
according to Christ, adultery begins in the mind through looking or fantasizing."

"The lust of the eyes also involves seeing and desiring something that does not belong to you but belongs to
someone else.

"Examples of the lust of the eyes include: pornography, coveting other people’s possessions, erotic and
adulterous fantasies, the visualization and desire to receive forbidden things."

"If you look at the world today, you will see that 90% of our youth are dressing naked on the street, and 80% of
women are exposing their bodies outside. Why? Because the devil is looking for all means to make sure the lust
of the eyes overwhelms everybody. Likewise, on social media, every platform you log in to, you will see ladies
opening their bodies, and when we look at it, we say it's nothing, but unknown to us, that it's the reason why
many of us sin against God today. Furthermore, nowadays, our generation is celebrating what we think is fun,
but deeper in the spirit, it's a sin and an abomination in the sight of God. Celebrations like Valentine's Day, No
Bra Day, etc., also invite lust of the eyes to the souls of men." Most especially the youths

"If you are reading this now and you are still doing those things, you need to repent before it gets too late."

1 Corinthians 6:9
Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived:
Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men.

1 Corinthians 6:19
"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have
received from God?"*

"Remember when Jesus Christ cleansed the temple? He said, 'My house shall be called the house of prayer.' Jesus
is speaking directly to us; I hope you know that Jesus Christ used His blood to cleanse us from our sin."
"Sisters, now that you are exposing your bodies, is it not written that your body is the temple of God?"
"Brothers, now that you are masturbating, is it not written that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit?"
"Christians, now that you are fornicating, is it not written that you should honor God in your body?"
"How did you dress the temple of God?"
"How did you treat the temple of God?"

"What are you doing with the temple of God?"

"It is written that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

(3)What is pride of life?

"Pride of life is the temptation and desire for power, personal recognition, and personal glory." "The pride of life
is also when someone believes he/she is better or superior to others based on acquired material possessions, social
status, education, and the like."
"The pride of life appeals to arrogance, conceitedness, narcissism, and all manner of self-exaltation and
superiority complexes."
"The pride of life also tempts people to seek popularity and admiration from others at any cost."

"The pride of life contrasts and opposes a life and attitude of humility."
In the book of (Romans 12:3) says: For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to
think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each
according to the measure of faith that God has assigned."

"Philippians 2:3 says: Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more
significant than yourselves."

"Proverbs 8:13 says: The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and
perverted speech I hate."

"James 4:6 says: But He gives more grace. Therefore it says, 'God opposes the proud, but gives grace to
the humble.'"

Regarding the anecdote:

"A great man of God can fall if the pride of life enters him. Season fell because of pride. His family warned him
not to choose the woman he saw, but because of pride, he refused."
"And the devil destroyed his destiny and killed him."
Final thoughts:

"Humble yourself before the Lord."

"Humble yourself before your parents."

"Humble yourself before your spiritual father."

"Humble yourself before your pastor."

"If you want God to lift you up.

"Don't be like the devil that rebelled against God because of his beauty and talent."

"Just because you are a beautiful girl does not mean you should be arrogant."

"Just because you are a brilliant boy does not mean you should have pride."

"Pride caused the devil to fall like a stone.

(4) Sexual immorality

In the Bible, sexual immorality is strongly condemned. In the Old Testament, laws were given to the Israelites
designed to discourage sexual immorality.
These laws prohibited adultery and other forms of sexual misconduct, such as incest and rape. In the New
Testament, Jesus taught that all sexual relationships outside of marriage are immoral. He also taught that lusting
after someone is just as sinful as the act itself. The Bible makes it clear that God expects us to remain sexually
pure and faithful to our spouses. God's plan for marriage is beautiful, and He wants us to honor and protect it.
If we do not, we risk damaging our relationships with both God and others.
In the New Testament, "sexual immorality" is most frequently translated as porneia, which means "a
surrendering of sexual purity," and is mostly used regarding premarital sexual relations. From this Greek word,
we get the English word pornography, deriving from the idea of "selling off." Sexual immorality is essentially the
"selling off" of sexual purity and involves sexual expression beyond the boundaries of a biblically defined
marriage relationship.
Matthew 19:4-5 - "Haven’t you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male
and female,’?

5,And said, "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the
two will become one flesh"?*

If you give your body to a man who is not your husband, you have sinned against God.

*Ephesians 5:3 says, "But among you, there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any
kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people."*

The verse emphasizes that sexual immorality or any impurity should not be mentioned among us because it's
improper for us, God's people.

The devil knows that once you understand these truths, you will be free from his captivity; that's why he blinds
many people's eyes from seeing the light.

This is why most of us think having a boyfriend/girlfriend is the best way of life, but unknown to us, the devil
wants to use them to destroy life and destiny.

In our generation, sex has become a form of recreation, to the extent that even teenagers engage in it, thinking
it's the right thing to do.

1 Corinthians 5:9 states, "I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people."

1 Corinthians 6:13 says,* " *You say, 'Food for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will
destroy them both.' The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the
Lord for the body.

"I want you to know that sex is a covenant. Anybody you have sex with, you share a covenant with them. Fifty
percent of their problems become yours, and fifty percent of your problems become theirs. Many of us have
created big problems for ourselves through sex.
Now let's look at what the Bible says."

1 Corinthians 6:15-16
" *Do you not know that your bodies are* *members of Christ* *himself? Shall I then take the
members of Christ and unite them with a* *prostitute? Never!

(16),Do you not know that whoever unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is
said, 'The two will become one flesh.'"*

"Look at what verse 16 says: 'Whoever unites himself/herself with a prostitute is one with him/her in body.' This
means that the guy you had sex with, you have become one body with him. That girl you had sex with, you have
become one body with her. If he is a failure, you have shared from it. If he has sickness, you have shared from it.
If he has a curse, you have shared it. If he has bad luck, you have shared from it. Likewise, her."

"Brethren, how many problems have you shared with a man/woman?"

1 Corinthians 6:18
" *Flee from sexual* *immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever
sins sexually sins against their own body."*

(5) What is Masturbation?*

Masturbation is a normal, healthy part of your sexual development. It involves the use of your hands, fingers, sex
toys, or other objects to stimulate your genitals and other sensitive areas of your body for sexual pleasure.
This is another wicked weapon that the devil is using to destroy life and destiny. Many Christians are struggling
with masturbation today because a doctor told them that masturbation is good for their health. If you are doing
this you must stop it. Masturbation is not good for your health; it's a demonic act.

Many people have asked me, Is masturbation a sin? Can Christians masturbate as an alternative for sex? The
answer to these questions is yes and no. There is no verse in the Bible that clearly says that masturbation is a sin.
Jesus did talk about tearing your eye out and cutting your hand off if it causes you to sin, which to me
sometimes sounds like a prophecy of the huge porn and masturbation epidemic we have today.

But once again, that verse is not talking about porn and masturbating. I’m just referring to what it sounds like in
our day and age. Ephesians says, “(any hint of immorality)” I believe masturbation falls into this category, and I
believe it is a sin.

First, I would like to say that masturbation is extremely dangerous. It has negative side-effects. It might be
pleasurable for the moment, but it has serious mental, physical, and spiritual consequences.
Sex is good, and it was made to be between husband and wife for intimacy, enjoyment, and for making babies.
Masturbation is essentially rejecting and twisting what God intended between husband and wife. You find a way
to do your own thing with self-stimulation.

Follow up carefully.
We are going somewhere.

Even if you masturbate without watching porn, where does the urge come from?"

"It comes from sexual fantasies, and you are going to think about sexual things until the point of release. If you
are masturbating, you must stop."

"The temptations to sin are around us more than ever, and God knew that. For those who are sick to death of
this sin, Jesus said to His Father, 'I will do your will, and I will return by your side. But Father, let these little ones
come with me. My righteousness is going to be their righteousness. My obedience is going to be their obedience.'
Despite Israel’s sin, God promised to save Israel. Not because they deserved it, but because of who He was. You
are Israel. God promised that you will be with Him through Jesus."

"I talk to many people who struggle and cry over their porn and masturbation addiction. I can
feel their pain. The promise of eternal salvation through Jesus Christ is for people who actually

hate their sin, want to be more, and seek to be better. The promise is not for those who want to
give up and say, 'if Jesus is this good, I’m going to sin all I want.' It is for those who genuinely struggle."

1 Corinthians 6:19 “"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you,
whom you have received from God? You are not your own

1 Corinthians 5:9

When you masturbate, you discover that you are weak, and you will sleep as if you are drunk. If you think
masturbation is good for your health, you are killing yourself physically and spiritually.

*Isaiah 60:1: "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you."*

The devil knows that when you sleep, you cannot rise, and when you arise, he cannot work. So, he puts the spirit
of masturbation in you so that you can sleep and be weak physically and spiritually. Hope you know that when
you masturbate, you become so weak and whenever you sleep, you begin to dream evil dreams such as eating in
the dream, having sex in the dream, swimming in a river, etc. All those dreams are a sign that the devil is after
your life, but you will not know because you think the reason why you had such dreams is because you
masturbated before you sleep. Masturbation is a mess. When you masturbate, you know how dirty you look. My
brothers and sisters, masturbation is an unclean thing, and the Bible says we should not do or touch unclean
things.

Colossians 3:5-6:
*5.Put to death,* *therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual* *immorality, impurity,
lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry.

6,Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.
