CPU GPU ASSIGNMENT

CPU STATUS:

GPU STATUS:
Report#1 - CPU processors - Intel vs AMD processors

The Central processing unit(CPU) is basically the brain of the computer as it carries out
operations and performs calculations. There are two types of CPU’s - Intel and AMD
processors, they both are popular in the world and almost everyone uses them. But which one
is better in terms of price, performance, speed, target user, use cases, etc.
Intel has a high single-core performance which helps processing tasks and does multitasking
fast leading to a powerful multi processor computer. This makes intel more efficient in terms of
performance than the Amd processors. Amd processors have a higher count than the Intel
processors. In terms of speed, Intel has a clock speed of 5.0 GHz meanwhile the AMD
processors can also reach up to 5.0 GHz but they are a bit slower than Intel in general. Intel is
stronger in single-thread performance but AMD is improving in terms of performance but looking
at its history, Intel has had better performance. Intel processors are usually expensive but
provide a better experience. On the other hand, Amd processors are generally affordable. Intel
takes less power consumption than AMD(higher power consumption due to high cores). Intel
has a wide range of motherboards and chipsets while AMD is more limited but it’s developing.
AMD’s GPU is better than Intel’s GPu because it offers great experience in terms of
performance and the graphics are much better. Intel’s target users are professionals and people
who work, meanwhile the AMD’s target users are Gamers, and youtubers as they need better
graphics. Lastly, Use cases by intel are: Advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Asset &
Operations Optimization, etc. meanwhile user cases for AMD are Big Data and Analytics,
Security,
Visualizations, Graphics-Intensive Tasks.

Report#2 - CPU VS. GPU

The CPU and the GPU are one of the most important computer hardwares as they

improve the experience significantly by carrying out operations and helping make the

graphics better. The CPU is like the brain of the computer as it processes information

and carries operations for running programs. The CPU is a microchip that connects

the motherboard and the processor. Usually, Cpus have many cores that range from

1-16 that can handle tasks and operations. On the other hand, The GPU is sometimes

found in the CPU. The GPU has 1000’s of cores which are designed for parallel

processing. When huge operations like AI, machine learning, and scientific

simulations, GPU is used. GPU also helps with the graphics and visual outputs but is

now mainly used in parallel processing. CPUs have high clock speeds which are good

for computing tasks and general stuff. Meanwhile the GPUs are good at operations

that are split into multiple operations and parallel processing, it can handle massive

operations easily. One should use a CPU for General computing which can be school

research, work in workplaces, etc. as CPU is good at single threaded tasks. GPUs

should be used for huge operations like gaming, and Ai machine learning as they take

huge amounts of processing and GPU will help accelerate the speed and offer a

better experience with the dynamic graphics. One should have a strong setup of

combining CPU and GPU as it can help with streaming live on platforms, etc.
