Generic Ticket eater connections.

Introduction to Ticket eater:

Ticket eater machine is used to count the tickets which is dispensed from game machines, this will
reduce the human effort to count the tickets. We are integrating semnox reader to ticket eater machine,
it will directly load the tickets to card.

This document describes in detail the generic ticket eater machine, the modes of interfaces supported,
connection and configuration to be done for the seamless integration.

Interface Modes
The Parafait Ticket Eater Interface PCB has been designed to support different makes and models of
standard ticket eaters in the industry. Due to interface supported by each ticket eater being different,
there are different modes to be setup in the ticket eater interface board to provide seamless
integration. Mode 2 is used for generic ticket eater machines.
Most of the ticket eaters work on the principle of Activation and Sensor/Notch. But the modern ticket
eaters have data exchange protocol defined. The ticket eater interface PCB handles the data
communication per the defined protocols.

MODE 2 - Generic ticket eater machine with activation + sensor inputs.

Connect Activation, sensor Input signals + motor activity signal(optional) + print button input (optional),
It’s works on Active Low signals.

Note: correct firmware to be used On Semnox TE board depends on Mode of operation.

Mode 0 to 9 : firmware 2.x

Mode 10: firmware 5.x

Ground from J10 Connector Black wire Ticket Eater Machine Ground

Activation from J3 connector 2nd pin

Find out ground pin of ticket eater machine and connect Semnox ticket eater interface board ground
connection (Power Supply J10 connection black wire).

Here in generic ticket eater machine, we refer active low signal – Hence we are grounding activation
signal

Connect activation line of J3 connector 2nd pin black wire to ground.

J10 Pin 12v DC (Brown Wire)

Ticket Eater Machine 12v DC

Connect J10 Pin 12v DC (Brown Wire) to 12v Dc of ticket eater machine to power up the ticket
eater interface board.

Sensor from J3 Connector 1st pin(Black Wire)

Sensor Signal (sig) from ticket eater machine

Connect sensor connection from J3 connector 1st pin to Sig ( output signal ) of ticket eater
machine.

J6 connector 1st pin clear signal.

Connect push button clear button output signal to J6 connector 1st Pin black wire.

Note: 1) The connections explained in Blow – Semnox side connections

2) The connections explained in Red – Ticket eater side connections.

Troubleshooting
No tickets getting transferred

• Make sure coin pulse is generated from reader

• Correct language and theme setting are necessary, in certain language and theme setting, issues are
observed in Reader LED pattern
• Ticket interface between Reader and TE board should be in E-TICKET mode
(Check Sense activation, sense sensor in the reader configuration to automatic learning during Power
ON)
• Card swipe to wait for Ticket delay must be set in Reader configuration more than 7 Sec. Example:
Benchmark machine takes more time to transfer the tickets after card swipe. If this delay is low,
then tickets will be lost.
• Card priority must be set to zero in ticket eater Reader
• For Maxgame and Benchmark machines in Pulse2 mode, Motor activity must be enabled. Else, there
is a possibility of missing tickets due to Motor running for long time after last ticket feed.
• Tickets will not count in ticket eater PCB if J3 1st pin connector has loose contact in Mode 2
• Tickets will not clear if clear signal is not connected to ticket eater machine in Mode 2
• Use only J10 connector to power the Board.
• Use shortest serial cables for Benchmark data mode, mode 3, 4.
