I am writing this letter to recommend Riffat Shahrin Ridi for her graduate studies. Riffat has been working for more than
six years (July 2018-present) for the Prosoil Foundation Consultant, of which I am the Chief Executive.
As part of her job description, Riffat has helped the company in various capacities: analyzing laboratory and field test
results, preparing reports/papers for our clients, and leading several projects efficiently. Per our instructions, she has also
been going on field visits to different locations, further enhancing her knowledge and skills. She has worked directly with
experienced Government and Private consultants.
As Riffat’s supervisor, I have always been satisfied with her work. She is well-organized and adheres to deadlines. As
she leads a team of twenty engineers, much of her duties revolve around communication, which she does quite expertly.
Riffat’s command of English is also laudable. I task her with writing reports regularly, and she delivers with excellence.
Riffat is highly motivated and inquisitive. I have seen her conferring with senior engineers about various aspects of the
projects and making her opinions and judgments known. She has good authority over the technical aspects and also can
grasp explanations quickly. Besides her usual work, she has also completed her M.Sc. degree managing time from work.
Even during her pregnancy, she met all the deadlines for the projects quite efficiently, demonstrating her ability to work
under pressure. Riffat’s well-driven passion in the geotechnical field is praiseworthy.
On a personal note, Riffat has an excellent work ethic. Her honesty and integrity have been exemplary. She is creative
and self-motivated. In all my interactions with her, I found her to be well-focused towards her goals. She has excellent
management and communication skills, an attribute I have observed through her interactions with other team members.
She has always been a perfect teammate, with her openness and accountability. Her natural command of language,
presentation skills, and ability to explain research findings in a simple and effective manner will enable her to succeed at
the highest level of research.
I firmly believe that Riffat will be an outstanding addition to your graduate program with any assistantship that may be
