Lesson Title: Humans: Major Parts of the Body (Guided Inquiry Using 5E's)

I. Objectives:

1. Identify the major parts of the human body and their functions.
2. Explain the importance of each part of the body.
3. Demonstrate care and respect for one’s own body.

II. Subject Matter:

A. Topic: Major Parts of the Human Body


B. Materials: Pictures/charts of the human body, flashcards, worksheets, projector,
markers, Manila paper
C. References:

2. Science for All 4, pp. 67-70
D. Process Skills: Observing, Classifying, Comparing, Describing
E. Science Concepts: The human body is composed of different parts, each having
unique functions.

B. EXPLORATION
1. Group Activity:
— Divide the class into groups. Each group will receive a diagram of a human
body with blank labels.

5E Each group identifies and labels the parts: head, arms, hands, chest, stomach,
legs, and feet.

House Rules: Encourage participation, use soft voices, and respect each other’s
ideas.

2. Guidelines for Group Activity:

Members: Leader, assistant, note-taker, presenter, and organizer

Groups are given 10 minutes to label their diagrams and prepare for a brief
presentation.

4. Write the body parts and their functions on the Manila paper.
