English for Aspiring Flight Attendants

Level: Beginner

Duration: 60 Minutes

Objective: To improve English language skills for a career as a flight attendant. This lesson will

focus on common phrases, vocabulary, and key expressions used in the cabin crew role, along with

grammar and practical exercises.

Warm-Up Conversation (5-10 minutes)

Objective: Get to know your student and establish a comfortable environment for learning.

Example Questions:

- What made you want to become a flight attendant?

- Do you have any experience traveling on planes?

- What do you enjoy most about working with people?

Essential Vocabulary for Cabin Crew (15 minutes)

Objective: Teach key vocabulary related to her future job as a flight attendant.

1. Cabin - The part of the plane where passengers sit.

Example: 'The cabin is comfortable and clean.'

2. Aisle - The walkway between seats in the airplane.

Example: 'Please walk down the aisle to your seat.'

3. Overhead bin - The storage compartment above the seats.

Example: 'Please store your luggage in the overhead bin.'

4. Seatbelt - A strap used to secure passengers in their seats.

Example: 'Please fasten your seatbelt during takeoff and landing.'

5. Oxygen mask - A mask that supplies oxygen in an emergency.

Example: 'In case of an emergency, oxygen masks will fall from above your seat.'

Example: 'Please locate the nearest emergency exit.'

Key Phrases for Flight Attendants (15 minutes)

Objective: Teach useful phrases and expressions she will use frequently in her role.

Introduction to Passengers:

- 'Good morning, my name is [Name]. I will be your flight attendant today.'

- 'Welcome aboard! We are happy to have you with us.'

Offering Assistance:

- 'How can I assist you today?'

- 'Would you like something to drink?'

- 'Can I help you with your luggage?'

- 'Please let me know if you need anything.'

Safety Announcements:

- 'Please fasten your seatbelt.'

- 'In case of an emergency, oxygen masks will drop from above your seat.'

Grammar Focus: Simple Present Tense & Polite Requests (10 minutes)

Objective: Help her practice using the simple present tense for daily duties and polite requests.

Simple Present Tense:

- Negative: 'I do not serve alcohol.'
