FILE SERVER RESOURCE MANAGER (FSRM)

In Server Manager, click add roles and features.

Click next until you reach Select Server Roles. Click the drop-down arrow then choose File Server Resource Manager
(FSRM).

After you click FSRM, it will request you to add features. Just click add features and click next.
In Select Features, just click next.

Tick restart the destination server automatically if required and choose install.
Wait until it finishes the installation.

Now this should be done. To open File Server Resource Manager, click tools from the server manager and look for File
Server Resource Management (FSRM).
In File Server Resource Manager (FSRM), click the drop-down arrow under quota management then right click quotas
and create quota.

Under Quota Path, browse for a specific folder where you want to implement quota.
Tick create quota on path.

Select Define custom quota properties and click custom properties.

Now setup our desired quota according to your perspective. Click ok when done.

Click create.
Choose save the custom properties as a template, so that in case you want to set up a quota like this you can browse this
quota you created from quota templates. Click ok when done.

Quota has been created and ready to use.

In File Server Resource Manager (FSRM), Click File Screening Management drop down icon and right click File Group and
choose create file group.

In file group properties, fill up necessary fields then click add once you're done and click ok.

Files to include: For each set of files that you want to block

Files to exclude: For each set of files that you want to allow.

Note: To successfully include/exclude a file type, you must put an asterisk (*) follow by the file path Ex *.JPG
Now, file group has successfully created.

In File Server Resource Manager (FSRM), click File Screening Management drop down icon and right click File Screens
and choose Create File Screens.
Under the File Screen path, click browse and locate to the specific folder location where you want to implement quota.
Tick Define custom file screen properties and click custom properties.

In File Screen Properties, Select your preferred settings and for the File Groups. Choose the File Group we setup earlier.
This will include .JPG and exclude .PNG from file screens. Click ok when done.
Click create.

Type your desired template and click ok.

Now, this should be done.

Now, let's test the file screen we created. I will create a paint file which will be saved in JPG format. Let's see if file screen
will block the said format.

Looks like it worked because it gives a permission error message.

In the image below, we can see that png file was saved, meaning excluded file group is working good w/o any issues.
