Internship Experience at PT Megah Karya Baronang

Duration: 6 Months
During my internship at PT Megah Karya Baronang, I gained valuable experience working in various
departments through a rotation system. This system provided me with exposure to different aspects of
mining operations and administrative tasks, enhancing both my technical and interpersonal skills.
1. Weekly Tasks at the Mining Site
In the first week of my rotation, I was assigned to the mining site. My responsibilities included:
 Recording daily operational activities such as trucking schedules and breaker outputs.
 Monitoring and documenting production targets to ensure alignment with operational goals.
 Conducting surveys on the hauling roads to evaluate their condition and suggest improvements.
This experience taught me the importance of precision and teamwork in ensuring smooth mining
operations.
2. Weekly Tasks at the Weighing Station
The second week of the rotation placed me at the weighing station, where I supported the team by:
 Recording production weights of raw materials and processed goods.
 Assisting in documentation of sales-related weigh-ins to ensure data accuracy.
I developed a greater appreciation for the meticulous record-keeping required in the logistics
aspect of the mining industry.
3. Weekly Tasks at the Office
In the third week, I rotated to the office, where I performed a variety of administrative tasks:
 Learning and assisting with the input of timesheets for heavy equipment usage.
 Supporting the attendance management process for employees.
 Helping the team with inventory records, including monitoring consumption supplies for
employees.
This phase of my internship strengthened my organizational and data management skills while
giving me insight into the behind-the-scenes work that supports field operations.

Skills and Knowledge Gained


Over the six months, I developed several key skills:
 Time Management: Adapting to different work environments and managing various tasks within
tight deadlines.
 Technical Skills: Understanding the technical aspects of mining operations, including production
tracking and road surveying.
 Data Management: Accurately recording and analyzing operational data, from mining outputs to
employee timesheets.
 Collaboration: Working with teams across multiple departments, which improved my
communication and teamwork skills.

Conclusion
My internship at PT Megah Karya Baronang was a highly enriching experience. The rotation
system allowed me to explore various roles and understand how each department contributes to the
company’s success. This experience not only expanded my technical knowledge but also prepared
me to adapt to diverse professional environments.
I am grateful to PT Megah Karya Baronang for providing me with this opportunity to learn and
grow, and I look forward to applying these skills in my future career endeavors.
