A self-Confident Girl
1. Mary, a girl of 18, was about to graduate from the secondary school. She was brilliant and
active, but her family wasn’t rich, so she couldn’t afford the funds of the university especially
those of the course she wished to take up.
2. She pondered long before she determined to do something. She told her father, a clerk at a
small firm in town, that she wanted to work as stewardess at a local restaurant at night. She
would study at the university during the day.
3. She made up her mind to work during summer to collect the money she needed as the first
fund of joining the faculty she had in mind.
4. The moment she finished she finished her secondary studies, she started her work. When
summer faded and autumn shed its leaves, she applied to the faculty of medicine, did an entrance
exam and was one of the honored students on the chart.
5. “How beautiful it is to triumph! Yes May should be a doctor” said Mary to herself.
6. Armed with will, self –confidence, and self-reliance, Mary was able to continue her strife,
and she made it out. She became one of the most renowned physicians in her country.
