ck98tutorial
The tutorials found on this demo CD are designed to help demonstrate some of the
functionality of CADKEY98, and can be used during a test drive. The tutorials have
been scripted to help the inexperienced CADKEY user. To work through the tutorials,
follow the script for a given tutorial. If all of the tutorials are completed within one
CADKEY session a completed toggle clamp assembly will result. The tutorials can be
used as stand alone tutorials or in sequence to create the assembly. There are also
ScreenCams that walk through the tutorials that you can view before attempting to
complete them.

TOGGLE CLAMP ASSEMBLY TUTORIAL ONE (Compression Link)
The following tutorial will walk you through the process for extruding a closed planar
wireframe profile into a solid body. In addition you will drill holes through the created
solid body. The solid created in this tutorial is part of a toggle clamp assembly. Continue
with TUTORIALS 2 through 4, without closing CADKEY, to complete the assembly.
Step 1
Load the FILE clamptutorial.prt by going to the pull-down menus and accessing FILE –
OPEN.
Type in the filename clamptutorial.prt in the dialog box, then, mouse click OPEN.

Step 2
In order to successfully complete the tutorial you’ll need to set some of the system
attributes.
a. Set the ACTIVE LEVEL to 3 by typing the immediate mode command ALT+L then
entering the value 3.
b. Set the DISPLAYED LEVEL to 3 by going to the pull down menus and accessing the
LEVEL LIST. The menu sequence to do this is VIEW-LEVELS-LIST. When the
level list is displayed be sure that the only level in the display column that is checked
is level 3. (note: you can also set and verify the active level from the level list)
