2. Course overview
This course with Math II -2nd semester provides an introduction to the basic concepts
and techniques of calculus and linear algebra, emphasising their inter-relationships and
applications to engineering. Topics covered are - Calculus: Functions of one variable,
differentiation and its applications, the definite integral, techniques of integration.
Algebra: Systems of linear equations, subspaces, matrices, optimisation, determinants,
applications of linear algebra.

Midterm& Final exam
The midterm exam will be a one and half-hour, written, closed book
examination, with non-programmable calculators will be permitted.
The final exam will be a three-hour, written, closed-book examination. non-
programmable calculators will be permitted.
The final exam will be scheduled by the university during the final exam period.
