Important!
This is a assembly manual for an harmless rubber band gun.
You will make and use it on your own risk. Please pay attention
to laws concerning realistic imitation firearms in your country.
General Instructions and tips:
- Cut off parts with a sharp blade. Always take a fresh blade. The
plywood pieces splinter very much.
- Not too much sanding. Better, sand everything in round shape when
it is assembled, because the width and shape of the items can be lost.
- Functional surfaces such as rotor, releaser, sliding parts, slots can be
soaked with superglue. When the superglue freezes, the parts are
properly resistant to wear or damage. Do not forget to sand away
excess adhesive.
- Use dried pieces of soap to lubricate wooden parts
- Some parts are twice in the set. Reason for that is they are milled
with different additional mass. For example about 0.1mm and 0.2mm
larger. So you can find out one of the best working pair of slots and
rails.
- Knurling on the levers and other decorative things you have to do
yourself.
- The Rail parts must be splinted und sanded thinner to fit in the
slots.
Pictogram meaning
Use cutter knife to cut the parts out
Connect the parts with instant glue. (Super glue)
Thick glue is better for wood
Do not use glue, pay attention to degree of freedom
Connect with white PVA glue, wood / paper glue
Connect with screws
Use screw clamp, press or vise to press parts
together properly
Pay attention to geometry, the edges should be
parallel
Pay attention to geometry, the holes should be
centric to each other
Magazine assembly
Connect the parts with white glue. Use vice to press parts together
together.
Frame assembly
Connect the parts with white glue. Use vice to press parts together.
Center the holes together
Glue the three parts from step before to right outer frame part FRM5
Check if the magazine fits in the magazine slot. Fits the magazine so
that it sits firmly inside the slot.
Turn the setup to the other side and bring the decoration
ration parts on it.
After mounting, the part DECO3 can be sanded down to ca. 2.5mm.
Trigger assembly
Make a spring out of piece PET bottle or plastic card, like the red part
on the picture.
Glue the three trigger parts together first and adjust the trigger
thickness to the frame.
Install "tongue", glue the spring part inside. Tongue must be able to
move freely up and down.
Glue the "rails" to the trigger as a last step.
Install trigger part into the frame and adjust the coil spring to the
length. Trigger must be able to move freely on the rails in the frame
slots.
Check the function of the trigger, it must be able to move up to the
stop, "tongue" should fold down on the inclined surface of the frame
frame.
Insert the safety part into the frame and glue it to the piece of 3mm
dowel. The dowel end should look out with reserve.

Trigger released
Trigger pressed
Check the function of all assembled parts, give some oil on the trigger
parts. If everything work right,
right the left outside part can be glued to
the setup. Press parts together properly.
Putt the following decorative
deco parts on the left side. After mounting,
the part DECO6 can be sanded down to 2.5mm
Make a shaft for disassembling lever out of 5 mm round rod. It must
have a slot that is up to half the diameter deep. Drill one 1
1-2mm
deep blind hole for the shaft in the D1. Glue D1 and shaft together.
The safety lever must be sanded thinner to ca.
a. 2.5mm and rounded,
you cannot made it later. Mount the safety levers correctly.
Mount other decorative
ive parts: grip, buttons, screw.
The frame assembly is now finished. It can be sanded to the round
shape.
Breechblock with toggle
Glue the three parts together, pay attention to centering holes.
Glue the rails to the breechblock part, later adjust rails to the slide
part slots.
Assemble the toggle parts for left and right side. Toggle parts are
connected with small screws.
Assemble the toggle parts, releaser and breechblock toget
together. Take
a piece of 3mm dowel for shaft. Thin releaser BL2 so it can move
free. Don't glue anything . Everything has to be stuck without glue.
Only right side toggle is drawn,
drawn make it for left and right.
The red marked part (block of T5s ) is responsible for most
dysfunctions of the gun system. It rubs on the bands at recoil
movement, prevents the breechblock goes all the way to the front.
Try to make you assembly without it first. In addition, with this part
the loading is enormously difficult.
Slide assembly.
Glue the parts together, center holes. Glue the rail part S5 to the
slide part, it must fit in the frame slot on the right side.
Glue
lue the fiber glass part GFK with superglue to the right slide. Glue
VB2 parts and VB1 parts to the GFK.
Adjust height off VB1 and VB2 so that it is in level with the front part
of the slide.
Glue three releaser parts R1 together. Make a shaft for Rotor part
RT1 out of a 3mm dowel.
Assemble the left side of the slide, similar to the right side.
The left and right part building together the slide box with internal
rails.
Place the rotor and releaser in the right side part.. Cover it with left
side. Check all parts are fits together, holes a concentric, parts can
move, adjust it if necessary. Check the co-working of rotor and
releaser parts.
Connect both sides with the small screws. Make the th recesses for
screw heads. The two holes in the rear part must be drilled with 1mm
drill first. Check that the assembled box rails fits to the frame slots
and the screw heads do not jam. Adjust it if necessary.
Disassemble the slide box. Place already mounted breechblock wits
toggles in the slots. From two nail make the axles for the back toggle
parts. Connect toggle and GFK parts with nail pieces. The axles must
not disturb the rotor and should not protrude partially from GFK
parts.
Build everything together again.
again Check the function of assembled
slide. The breechblock and assembled toggle should glide back and
forth without great resistance. The tilt part of breechblock should
trigger releaser part at the rear moving.
Function: releaser
eleaser part of trigger mechanics
Breechblock
reechblock at the front, releaser holt moving part of breechblock
from tilting.
Now, the trigger is pressed. The releaser part goes back and let the
breechblock part tilt and rubber band slip off.
Thin the AL1 part a little, so it can move freely in the slide box. Glue
releaser parts AL1 und rails AL2 together with super glue. Pay
attention to the centering of the help holes. Thin the rail parts in
according to the slide box slots. Place the small coil spring from pen
in the rear part of releaser.
Place the assembled releaser part in the right part of the slide box
together with breechblock and toggle. Make fixed stop part out of a
piece of wood in the slot for releaser, so it have defined position at
the front. (orange) Check the function of the system. If everything
OK, assemble the slide box again without breechblock an toggle, and
place slide box in frame. Check the complete interacting trigger
function. Adjust stop position for releaser so it hook on the trigger
"tongue". If Ok, build the slide again with toggle together.
Installation of rubber bands for mechanics
The middle slot in the slide box is designed for driving rubber bands
of breechblock and rotor releaser. In the right part is the band for
rotor releaser. The band end iss simple glued in the slot with
superglue. Other end is in the rotor releaser hole fixed with piece of
wood dowel.
Right side carries rubber band for the breechblock. Rubber band end
is also simple glued in the slot. The breechblock part has a small
deepening for the other end of rubber band.
Other possibility worth to try, is to make a PET spring for the rotor
releaser.
leaser. This eliminates a rubber band for releaser, and then you can
use a complete rubber ring for breechblock. See picture:
Turn barrel out of 16mm dowel an connect it with piece of 5mm
screw to the slide box.
Glue front sight MZ1 and the flange ring LA1 to the barrel.
