Course Overview:
Concepts of computer-aided drafting (CAD); introduction to the CAD
environment; terminologies; and the general operating procedures and
techniques in entering and executing basic CAD commands.
Course Objective:
At the end of this course, the students will be able to:
• Identify the techniques and skills in computer-aided drafting that are
necessary for engineering practice
• Create electronic drawings (e-drawing) using CAD
Module 1: DRAFTING
This module will discuss element of a guideline and two
kinds of letters in Alphabet.
Module 2: DRAWING
This module will discuss the definition of drawing, and
types of drawing.
Module 3: LETTERING
This module will discuss lettering, styles of letters, and
general proportion of letters.
Module 4: DRAWING INSTRUMENTS, MATERIALS AND
EQUIPMENT
This module will discuss the commonly used drawing
materials, instruments, and equipment.
Module 5: ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTION
This module will discuss orthographic projection and 6
possible views (Front, Top, right side, bottom, rear, and left side
views).
Module 6: ALPHABET OF LINES
This module will discuss the alphabet of lines.
Module 7: AUTOCAD SOFTWARE
This module will discuss the various basic autoCAD
commands.

1. Classes may be in form of video conferencing and online discussion will
strictly adhere the relevant OVPAA advisory and CE dept. Chairperson’s
advisory.
2. In accordance with the data privacy act, Class Masterlist will not be
posted in any mode of teaching and learning. Only the Instructor and a
class coordinator will be allowed to have them for the sole purpose of
managing the class. In case you need to verify something, you may
contact them in private.
3. There will be a minimum of six (6) video conferencing session for the entire
semester which will be conducted during official class schedule as
reflected in the approved teaching assignment (refer to course schedule
of this course primer).
4. All Modules will be posted to the Facebook group and Microsoft Teams at
least 1 week prior to the conduct of the class.
5. For any concerns, please coordinate with the Class President/course
coordinator and the Class President/course coordinator will be the one to
relay the concern to the instructor.
During Video conferencing:
1. Classes in the form of video conferencing will be recorded and uploaded
to either the Facebook group or Microsoft Teams for asynchronous
learning at the comfort of students.
2. The video conferencing will be conducted as scheduled posted in this
course primer thru either Microsoft Teams or Zoom Meetings.
3. Students are expected to be at their best behavior during the entire video
conferencing.
4. Students should use their full name for proper identification. For students
with more than 1 first name, you may opt to use at least one distinct first
name only together with your surname.
5. Students enrolled in correspondence mode may sit-in during conduct of
video conferencing, however, their grades will be computed solely based
on their submittals through their chosen mode.
During Online discussion:
1. Online discussions will be conducted thru Facebook group in order for
students to have free access.
2. Assignments/discussion topics will be open for entries for one week upon
posting to the Facebook group.
3. Students must participate in all online discussions.
