HOTSPOT PLANS

How it works

The hotspot set up works under the principle of “pay to connect”. We create a wifi network broadcasted
to different distances ie. 60m radius, 100m radius, 150m radius, 200m radius, 300m radius. The
broadcasted wifi has no password , someone is granted access after paying a certain amount of money.

Where the paid money goes

When a client pays the money they are granted access to the network and the paid amount is
immediately deposited to ypur Safaricom Paybill, till number or mpesa number. To use Safaricom paybill
and till number you need the API keys, get these from safaricom

More about the billing software.

1. Packages – Eg. 10bob per 1hr, 20bob per 2hrs etc. You create these packages yourself. You can
cap clients to a certain maximum speed ensuring that you accommodate more clients on your
network.
2. SMS – The system sends expiry notifications and payment confirmation messages to the clients.
3. Dashboard – the system has a dashboard where you can see the active clients, the total
subscribers, the amount of money earned that month and the expenses.
4. Subscription – 500 per month.

Hardware needed.

The set up consists of two major devices.

1. Mikrotik router – the mikrotik router is what determines how many clients you can have in your
network at a time.
2. Access point – this gadgets is what detwermines what distance your wifi can cover eg. 200m
radius, 100m radius etc.

Having that in mind now you can choose one mikrotik and one access point according to what kind of
a set you need.
