SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN in Science VI

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

a. Identify the planets in the solar system;


b. enumerate the planets in solar system according to their
distance;
and
c. appreciate the importance of the eight planets, especially
the planet earth where we live in.

II. Subject Matter

• Title: Planets in the Solar System

• References: Internet, Gr.6 Science book

• Materials: Solar system model, mobile phone and wide screen.

III. Procedures
A. Preparation
• Prayer
• Greetings
• Greet the students then ask them on how their day was
• Prepare the materials

B. Review

C. Presentation
(Present lesson for the day)
The teacher present the topic for the day and post the days objectives
that are going to attained.

• Define what is solar system

• Discussion of the Solar System and the eight planets

• Identify the four inner and outer planets in solar system

VI. Activity Proper

a. Activity

Let the students define what is solar system in one word

Identify the eight planets of solar system

Give any insights or knowledge about the planets in solar


system

b. Analysis

1. What are the planets in solar system?

2. Why do we need to study the planets in solar system?

3. How can we use what we learn today in the future as


an educ student?

c. Abstraction

The teacher will give a brief description about solar system

The teacher will explain the important details of eight planets

The teacher will explain the other elements like moons,


asteroid belt and pluto
d. Application

Students are expected to answer the short quiz at the end of the
lesson on what they learned in class
