Work
1. Have you ever had a part-time job?
Option 1 (If you've had a part-time job): "Yes, I've worked as a part-time technician at a local
manufacturing company. This experience allowed me to apply my knowledge in automation
systems and gain hands-on experience with various industrial equipment."[ɪnˈdʌ[Link].əl]
Option 2 (If you haven't had a part-time job): "While I haven't had a formal part-time job, I've
been involved in numerous projects at my university's automation lab. These projects have given
me the opportunity to work in teams, troubleshoot problems, and develop practical skills in
automation."
2. What skills do you learn from this job?
Possible skills: Problem-solving, teamwork, time management, attention to detail, technical skills
(PLC programming, SCADA, etc.), and adaptability.
Example: "Through my part-time job, I've practiced my problem-solving skills by
troubleshooting equipment malfunctions. Working in a team environment has also helped me to
improve my communication and collaboration abilities."
3. Which jobs would you like most to do in the future?
Options: Automation engineer, robotics engineer, process control engineer, or a role in research
and development.
Example: "I aspire to become an automation engineer in a manufacturing company. I'm
particularly interested in designing and implementing advanced automation systems to improve
efficiency and productivity."
4. Where would you prefer to work, for a small company or a big company?
I believe that both types of companies have their own strengths and unique opportunities for
growth. Working at a small company could offer me the chance to take on multiple roles,
allowing me to learn quickly and gain a comprehensive understanding of the work process. On
the other hand, large companies often have a clear organizational structure and offer strong
career advancement opportunities, along with resources for specialized professional
development. So, my choice would depend on my specific career goals at the time—if I want
rapid learning and flexibility, I’d go with a small company; but if I seek deep and long-term
development, I’d consider a large company.
5. What qualities do you think you need for your future job?
Required qualities: Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, technical expertise,
adaptability, and a passion for technology.
Example: "For a successful career in automation, I believe it's essential to have a strong
foundation in engineering principles and a passion for continuous learning. Additionally,
excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team are crucial."
6. Which job would you hate to have?
Example: "I would find it boring to work in a job that lacks creativity and problem-solving
challenges. I enjoy the dynamic of automation engineering, where I can constantly learn and
apply new technologies."
7. How old would you retire in the future?
Open-ended question: "It's too early to say for sure when I'll retire. However, I plan to work as
long as I'm passionate about my work and can continue to contribute to my company."
8. Are you planning on changing your job in the future?
Example: "I'm open to exploring different roles within the automation industry. I believe that
continuous learning and growth are essential for a fulfilling career. However, I'm also interested
in staying with a company that offers opportunities for advancement and development."
9. Do you want to work in a city or in your hometown?
Consider factors like: career opportunities, lifestyle preferences, and cost of living.
Example: "I'm open to working in either a city or a smaller town. While cities offer a wider range
of job opportunities and a more vibrant cultural scene, I also value the peace and quiet of a
smaller community."
11. How much salary do you want to pay?
Avoid giving a specific number: "I'm more interested in finding a position that offers a
competitive salary and benefits package that is commensurate with my skills and experience."
12. What skills do you need in your future job?
Focus on future trends in automation: "In the future, I believe that skills like machine learning,
artificial intelligence, and data analytics will be increasingly important for automation engineers.
I'm eager to develop these skills
13. What will you have to do for your job in the future?
Identify areas for improvement: "I plan to continue my education by pursuing advanced degrees
or certifications in areas such as robotics, industrial IoT, and cybersecurity. These additional
qualifications will help me to stay competitive in the evolving field of automation."
Remember to tailor your answers to the specific company and position you are applying for. By
highlighting your relevant skills, experience, and passion for automation, you can make a strong
impression on potential employers.
