Force is a push or pull and is a vector quantity.

Force is measured in Newtons

(N). Velocity, acceleration, displacement and force are vector quantities because
they have both magnitude and direction. They can be shown by vectors

1. Adding forces. (Concurrent forces)

When you have a force of 10 newtons and a force of 7 newtons both pulling east
( same direction)

Add your forces together to get the resultant

17N
Rules: Vectors in the same direction you add to find resultant.
The angle is 0 degrees
It gives the largest resultant Maxresultant

2. Subtracting forces ( concurrent forces) and

When you have a force of 10 N and a force of 7 N both pulling in opposite
directions, you subtract forces.

3N
Rules: Vectors in opposite directions you subtract to find the resultant.
180 degree angle between them
You get the smallest resultant minresultant

3.Vectors that form a 90 degree angle

Rules: Vectors at a 90 degree angle to find the resultant

Angle between them is 90 degrees

The smaller the angle between the vectors , the bigger the resultant. The bigger
the angle between two vectors , the smaller the resultant.
