4. Crypt Arithmetic
4. Crypt Arithmetic
Crypt arithmetic is a mathematical puzzle that involves the replacement of digits with alphabets, symbols, and
letters. Only through certain practices, one can become an expert in solving crypt arithmetic questions.
There are three types of questions asked in Crypt Arithmetic.
Type – 1: Questions that can be solved with the help of options.
Type – 2: Questions that can be solved with the help of hint given in the question.
Type – 3: Questions that can be solved with the help of rule and logic with little bit hit and try method.
RULES TO SOLVE CRYPT ARITHMETIC PROBLEMS
1. Each Letter, Symbol represents only one digit throughout the problem.
2. Numbers must not begin with zero i.e. 0567 (wrong), 567 (correct).
3. The aim is to find the value of each letter in the Crypt arithmetic problems
4. There must be only one solution to the Crypt arithmetic problems
5. The numerical base, unless specifically stated, is 10.
6. After replacing letters with their digits, the resulting arithmetic operations must be correct.
7. Carryover can only be 1 in Crypt arithmetic problems involving 2 numbers.
