Introduction to the module

Welcome to the “Knowing Yourself” module in Grade 1

Science! In this module, you will start an exciting journey to
learn about your body and how it helps you explore the world.
You will discover the different parts of your body. From your
head to your toes.

You will also learn about your five senses: sight, hearing,
smell, taste, and touch. Each of these senses is like a special
power that helps you understand what is around you. For
example, your eyes let you see colors and shapes; your ears let
you hear sounds and music; your nose helps you smell flowers
or your favorite food; your tongue helps you taste sweet or salty
things; and your skin helps you feel different textures, like
something soft or rough.

Through fun activities, you will explore how each body part
and sense works. You will also learn how to take care of your
body to keep it strong and healthy. By the end of this module,
you will know more about yourself and appreciate how amazing
your body is.

Let’s start this journey of discovery and find out what makes
your body so special!
