Requirement (What you should do);

1. You can use a black pencil to write the answer. Make sure to write your answer clearly
for evaluation.

2. Section A & B: Write your answer using only the vocabulary and sentence patterns
found in the textbooks (Minna no Nihongo 1-1) Lesson 1 to 8 and materials provided
by your teacher. You can also refer to the Japanese Writing System (Guide for Writing
Hiragana & Katakana pp.16-19) to write good Hiragana and Katakana letters. Google
translator or any other translation device or application is not allowed to be used.
If you do not answer the question according to this requirement, marks for each
question will be zero.

Section C: Please read the requirement attached with the question.

3. After completion of Written Communication 2, scan or take a photo of the answer sheet
(You need to submit only the answer sheet, page 2 & 3) and convert the pages to one
PDF file. Make sure your answer sheet can be seen clearly.

4. Write the same way as the example below in the file’s name and the subject of the email
then send it by UMS student email account.

SECTION C: WRITING (50 MARKS)

Title: わたしの ふるさとの ともだち

Requirements for your essay to be evaluated:

1. Write about only one friend under the condition stated below;
- A friend who is really existed.
- A friend who is not studying in UMS, not an UMS student.
- A Malaysian friend.

2. Write only what is realistically possible.

3. Write 15 sentences or more.

4. Must write your friend’s name in Katakana. Do not use the character’s name in your textbook
(Minna no Ninongo 1-1). Do not write about the friend who has the same
name with the characters in the text book.

5. Must use the sentence patterns from both Lesson 7 and 8 in your essay.
Use only Vocabulary and sentence patterns from the Main textbook and translation &
Grammatical Notes in English, “Minna no Nihongo1-1”, Lesson 1 to 8 as well as the material
provided by your class teacher.
Do not use vocabulary and/or sentence patterns which your teacher did not teach
in the class.

6. Write only in Hiragana, Katakana and numerals. KANJI is not allowed to be used.

7. Write the essay in Paragraph form.

Marks will be deducted if you do not meet all the requirements mentioned above.
