The Effects of AI-Enabled Services on students

Adam B Shohe

The rise of AI-powered services like ChatGPT has a crucial role in how students learn
academically at this age. These tools can guide students on different topics, allowing them to
get the information they want, clear doubts and understand difficult theories at the same time.
Platforms equipped with AI also offer personalised explanations that adapt to each person’s
learning speed, which provides engaging and effective education. In addition, as they are
available 24/7, these tools allow students to access help beyond the boundaries school thereby
encouraging self-directed learning (Johnson, 2023). These positive results have been shown
in research as well: Students who use AI-driven tools report a higher confidence level and
improved grades, citing immediate feedback and help (Smith, 2022). However, the
drawbacks of this technology dependence can result in evolutionary challenges, such as
flawed critical thinking and little-to-no peer and teacher interaction. It also poses an issue of
integrity; some students may use AI tools to cheat in their assignments or exams, which also
obviously hinder their learning ability. Despite these challenges, the application of AI in
education have been useful in providing a range of learning resources and developing
technological skills crucial to the job market to students. Lastly, the improvements to student
participation and academic success outweigh any challenges AI-powered services like
ChatGPT present. However, as more educational institutions adopt these technological
aspects, it also important to find a balance between assistive technology and conventional
methods so that pupils can get the most out of their digital elements without sacrificing their
intellectual growth.
