LAB 02 - INTRODUCTION TO PROTEUS SIMULATION
SOFTWARE

AIM: Introducing the Proteus simulation software.

OBJECTIVE: To introduce the Proteus software for testing various circuits.
INTRODUCTION:
Proteus is a simulation software for various designs with microcontroller. It is mainly popular
because of availability of almost all microcontrollers in it. So it is a handy tool to test programs
and embedded designs for electronics.

Note:
You need to submit design files and the lab report with screen shot of the outputs (eg.
Oscillator output) for each circuits.

SIMULATION OF CIRCUITS

1) HALF WAVE RECTIFIER CIRCUIT

One of the application of an operational amplifier is half wave rectifier.
Components used in this circuit:
 LM741 IC
 Input – 14V
 1 kHz Sine wave source
 LED,
 1k Ohm Resistor,
 Ground

Change the frequency of the input wave to 10Hz, adjust the oscilloscope to display the
waveforms clearly.

Submit the screenshot of the circuit shown above and by changing the input voltages
(12V, 9V and 2V). Explain the principle of three level comparator.
4) RELAY
Understand the operation of a relay by changing the resistor value and observe the
current flow in the circuit.
Go to “System” in the tool bar, Select Set Animation Options, Mark “Show wire current
with arrows”.
