About the conference
IEEE PEDES 2024 will be held at National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) Surathkal,
Mangaluru from 18th -21st December 2024. IEEE PEDES is a biennial conference sponsored by IEEE
Industry Applications Society and technically co-sponsored by IEEE Power Electronics Society, Industrial
Electronics Society, and Power & Energy Society. The goal of PEDES is to provide a platform for
conference, exhibition and tutorial on selected topics of contemporary interest. The conference provides a
unique forum for the exchange of knowledge and information among the professionals across the globe in
the area of power electronics, drives and energy system subjects which have greater significance owing
to the emphasis on energy affected by the climate change. The conference aims at bringing together the
users and researchers of electrical energy conversion systems and sub-systems with the emphasis on
technical content of the papers.
Benefit of attending the conference
By attending the conference I will be acquainted with the recent developments in a broad area of power
electronics and drives which will open new research avenue. The paper presented in this conference will
be eligible for submission to IEEE transaction on industrial application. The NIT Agartala will also be
benefited with and knowledge that I will get by attending this conference. It will increase the visibility of
the institute to the academic community
Justification for Tier 1 Conference
PEDES, the IEEE sponsored series of International Conferences on Power Electronics, Drives
and Energy Systems was started in 1996. The first in the Series, PEDES 1996 was held in New
Delhi. It was followed by PEDES 1998 in Perth, Australia; PEDES 2006 & PEDES 2010 in New
Delhi, PEDES 2012 in Bangalore and PEDES 2014 in Mumbai. PEDES 2016 was held at
Trivandrum and was sponsored by the four important IEEE societies, viz., the IEEE Industry
Application Society, IEEE Power Electronics Society, IEEE Industrial Electronics Society and
IEEE Power and Energy Society. The conference in an international conference organized by
IEEE Industry Applications Society which was established in 1960. This time the conference is
hosted by NITk Suratkal which is under IEEE Bangalore section . IEEE Bangalore section was
