MANUAL NIXIE CLOCK IN8-2

Thank you for purchasing this clock. You bought a fine piece of technique from the past in a new, modern coat.
The tubes in this clock are NOS, New Old Stock. Nixie tubes are produced from 1950’s to 1980’s, so it is possible
that they are half a decade or more years old (although they are never used before). Normally the lifetime of
the tubes can be long, up to 20 years, but occasionally they break down before. If this is within the warranty
period contact your purchase point.

The clock has a DS3231 Real Time Clock unit build in, which is quite accurate (2ppm @ room temperature
which is less deviation then a minute / year). When power is disconnected the CR2032 battery will keep the
clock running, so it is not neccessary to set the time again.

Be sure only to use the included Power Adapter, other devices can destroy the clock. Internally the clock is
protected by a dedicated polyfuse.

Do not open the clock when the Power Adapter is plugged in, voltages up to 200V are present and can cause
serious injuries.

First time when you start up the clock all numbers and different backlight colours are displayed, to check if
everything is working fine. When the clock shows “88:88:88” push the button on the back side, the clock will go
into calibration mode. After this the shoftware version will be displayed for a brief moment, then the clock will
go into normal mode. A factory reset can be performed by pressing the button on the back side and plug in the
Power Adapter at the same time.

Anti Cathode Poisoning: Every hour (9 minutes past the hour) the clock will do a “Anti Cathode Poisoning
Routine” which lights up all numbers for 15 seconds, to keep all digits healthy.

Button control.
Short press: less then 1 second.
Medium press: more than 1 seconds.
Long press: more than 8 seconds.

Tube healing mode: Long press. After a long period of time, tube digits which are not often used
can get dim, despite the ACP that is regularly done. The clock will enter filament healing mode. All the power
will be placed through a single filament of a single digit to clean it. A short press will change the selected
filament, another long press wil exit this mode.
Be carefull, normally it is not necessary to use this. Using this mode for longer time can damage the clock!

To enter setting mode, press the button medium press. The LEDs will start to flash white. Each medium press
will advance the setting mode. To change a setting, press the button for a short press.
When all setting modes are passed, the clock will return to normal mode.

To exit the setting mode before going through all the options, press the button for more than 2
seconds and the settings will be stored, the LEDs will return back to their normal operation.
