Role & Responsibilities:

This role focuses on both performance engineering and active development, specifically
within distributed systems. The candidate will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and
optimizing performance tests (e.g., Gatling tests) but will also be expected to contribute to
the codebase directly. A strong understanding of distributed systems and stream processing
frameworks like Apache Flink is essential.
● Performance Engineering: Develop, implement, and maintain performance tests to
ensure scalable and reliable applications.
● Development of Data Streams: Write and optimize custom Flink sources and sinks
to generate or process real-time data as needed.
● Codebase Contributions: Work alongside the team to actively develop and optimize
application code, contributing directly to system architecture when needed.
● Distributed Systems Expertise: Leverage in-depth knowledge of distributed
systems principles to ensure efficient and robust application performance.

Requirements:

● Proficiency in Java: Strong Java development skills for coding, debugging, and
optimizing.
● Apache Flink Experience: Hands-on experience with Apache Flink or similar
technologies, especially in creating custom sources and data-generating frameworks.
● Performance Testing: Ability to develop and execute high-quality performance tests,
ideally with experience using Gatling or similar tools.
● Distributed Systems Knowledge: In-depth understanding of distributed systems,
event-driven architecture, and stream processing.
● Collaboration Skills: Ability to work closely with other developers, product owners,
and project managers.
● Expertise in building test automation frameworks, especially for testing real-time
streaming pipelines.
● Experience with AWS and CI/CD tools, particularly GitHub Actions.
● Familiarity with load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling) and data streaming systems.
● Strong troubleshooting skills and experience working with cloud environments.

10AM to 7PM (GMT -3)
