Errors and Cautions

Errors
Errors display feature is very helpful to diagnose the health of the meter in
field. The nature of errors can be identified with their respective codes which

INSTALLATION GUIDE R421-C4U | 9

are related to the abnormality of hardware or software. Following is the list of
errors with their respective codes which will be displayed on the meter’s LCD:
Codes Description Codes Description
01 to 25 Billing Registers error 42 DSP Chip error
Meter Parameterization 43 EEPROM error
26 to 40
error
44 EEPROM error
41 Reserved for future use
45 EEPROM error

Remedy of Errors
If any error code from 01 to 25 and 42 to 45 appears on meter’s LCD, it is
recommended that the meter should be replaced. Whereas, if the meter shows
error codes from 26 to 40 then the meter should be reprogrammed.

Cautions
Caution is a precautionary expression which is displayed on the meter’s LCD
indicating a possible hazard. Caution does not indicate malfunctioning of the
meter but it represents only abnormal external condition (phase fail, over load
etc.). If any caution’s code displays, the meter will function accurately. Following
is a list of cautions with their respective codes, which will be displayed on LCD:

Codes Description Codes Description

01 Phase fail 10 Phase Sequence
02 Over Voltage 11 CT Fail
03 Under Voltage 12 Reserved for Future Use
04 Over Current 13 PF unbalance
05 Over Load 14 Battery Low /Off
06 Unbalance Voltage 15 Door Open
07 Reserved for Future Use 16 Tamper Energy
08 Reverse Energy Running in "LOW
17
POWER MODE"
09 Reverse Polarity
18 Time Not Set

10 | INSTALLATION GUIDE R421-C4U

Remedy of Cautions
Cautions automatically remove from the meter’s LCD when external abnormal
condition is restored. For example in case of phase failure, the meter will be
displayed caution symbol with the caution code no. 01 on LCD. As this phase
failure condition is restored, the caution symbol and caution code no. 01 will be
automatically removed from the meter’s LCD.

Tariff & Season Programming

Following Seasons and Tariffs (TOU/TOD) are programmed in the LT Type CT
Operated meter.
