General Instructions:
The question paper is divided into four sections.
(i) Section A: Q. No. 1 contains ten multiple choice type of questions carrying one mark each.
Q. No. 2 contains eight very short answer type of questions carrying one mark each.
(ii) Section B: Q. No. 3 to Q. 14 are 12 short answer type of questions carrying two marks
each.
(iii) Section C: Q. No. 15 to Q. No. 26 are 12 short answer type of question carrying three
marks each.
(iv) Section D: Q. No. 27 to Q. No. 31 are five long answer type of questions carrying four
marks each. (Attempt any three)
(v) Use of long table is allowed. Use of calculator is not allowed.
(vi) Figures to the right indicate full marks.
(vii) For each multiple choice type of question, it is mandatory to write the correct answer along

Q.15. What is Kohrausch law of independent migration of ions? How is it useful in obtaining molar
conductivity at zero concentration of a weak electrolyte? Explain with an example.
Q.16. How is SO2 prepared in laboratory from sodium sulfite? Give two physical properties of SO2.
Q.17. What are anode and cathode of H2– O2 fuel cell ? Name the electrolyte used in it. Write
electrode reactions and net cell reaction taking place in the fuel cell.
Q.18. The osmotic pressure of CaCl2 and urea solutions of the same concentration at the same
temperature are respectively 0.605 atm and 0.245 atm. Calculate van’t Hoff factor for CaCl2
Q.19. What is an impurity defect? What are its types? Explain the formation of vacancies through
aliovalent impurity with example.
