Module 3 Lesson 4 Making Connections
Module 3 Lesson 4 Making Connections
Pre-lesson Activity
1. Being able to see connection between what is taught in the classroom and what happens n real life is
important for learning.

2. Helping learners to see the connections between what is taught in the different subject areas their
learning.

3. Learners can do integration across the curriculum on their own. It is not necessary to design lessons for
this integration to be realized.

Is all about how different subjects in school, like math, reading, and writing, are
related to each other and can help us understand each other better. To make these
connections clear, teachers need to spend time planning lessons that connect the different
subjects together. This can be a lot of work, but it helps students to see how everything they
are learning fits together.
Allows students to problem-solve effectively. Increases student engagement. Allows for multi-disciplinary
learning to occur. Teaches diverse knowledge and skill.
Making connections across the curriculum involves finding ways to link different subject areas
together so that students can see how they are interconnected. Here are some ways to make
connections across the curriculum:
1. Look for natural connections: Identify areas where different subjects naturally overlap, such
as science and math or language arts and social studies. For example, when studying
geography, students can use math skills to calculate distances between locations.
2. Incorporate real-world examples: Use examples from the real world to help students
understand how different subjects relate to each other.
By using these strategies, teachers can help students to see how different subjects are
interconnected and deepen their understanding of key concepts.
Integrating subjects can refer to us, as integrated curriculum which is described as one that
connects different areas of study by cutting across subject matter lines and emphasizing
unifying concepts. Integration focuses on making connections for students, allowing them
to engage in relevant, meaningful activities that can be connect to real life.

Why do we need to learn about integration or making connections? How does this benefits our
learners?
