follows :
a) Draw a plan and elevation of a stopped compound wall of height 1800mm

b) Cross section from foundation to coping at scale 1: l0 assuming hard
strata depth as 1200 mm
All the necessary annotations and dimensions have to be given for the plan
and section of the stone foundation.

Draw the following for the stopped end of 1½ brick thick English bond with
mortar thickness.

above it. Length of beam between centre to centre supports is 4.5m. [7]

Q5) A simply supported beam 5m long is loaded with a uniformly distributed
load of 8 KN/m and point loads of 3 KN and 6 KN AT 1m and 3m from
L.H.S. support respectively, as shown in the fig. Below.
Draw shear force and bending moment diagrams for the beam indicating the
point of contra-shear and the value of maximum bending moment. [13]

b) A Simple supported beam in R.C.C of size 300 × 600 of clear span


5.8m is supported on 300mm thick columns on each side. The beam
carries a 1500mm high and 230mm thick wall on its entire span. Take
densities of RCC and brick as 25 kN/m3 & 19 KN/m3 respectively.
Calculate Support reactions using effective span. [7]
