5.4 Using the properties of materials to separate mixtures

2. Write the steps involved in separating a mixture of salt and black carbon.
 Mix the salt and carbon with water and stir.
 Filter the mixture.
 Place the filtered liquid into an evaporating basin.
 Heat with a Bunsen burner until the solution starts to spit.
 Turn off the heat.
 Leave to cool and for the remaining water to evaporate.
 Dry the filter paper.
 Scrape the filter paper to get black carbon.

the nature of an acid and a base. Fill the litmus result of the following.
