4). Develop the overall knowledge about media and information

with skills for producing a prototype of what the learner think is a
future media innovation
MOOC (MASSIVE OPEN ONLINE
COURSE)
What is a massive open online course (MOOC)?
A massive open online course (MOOC) is a typically free
web-based distance learning program that's designed for
large numbers of geographically dispersed students.
Some universities in America collaborated with private
companies once had a single course having 50,000
students enrolled on it.
HERE ARE SOME COURSES PROVIDED BY THE SAID WEBSITES:

1. 3D PRINTING SOFTWARE
2. ACCOUNTING OF BUSINESS DECISION MAKING: MEASUREMENT
AND OPERATIONAL DECISIONS
3. ADVANCED CONTENT AND SOCIAL TACTICS TO OPTIMIZE SEO
4. ADVANCED LEARNING THROUGH EVIDENCE-BASED STEM
LEARNING
5. ALGORITHMS OF GRAPHS
6. BUSINESS ENGLISH FOR CROSS-CULTURAL COMMUNICATION
7. DATA COLLECTION: ONLINE, TELEPHONE AND FACE-TO-FACE
WEARABLE TECHNOLOGIES

WEARABLE TECHNOLOGIES ARE GADGETS

DESIGNED TO BE WOM FOR
ENTERTAINMENT, FASHION, EDUCATIONAL
ACTIVITIES, ETC. THESE TECHNOLOGIES ARE
MADE FOR A BETTER LIVING, EASIER WAY OF
LIVING, AND FOR HELPING THOSE WHO ARE
IN NEED OF GUIDANCE
EXAMPLES OF WEARABLE TECHNOLOGIES
1). Google glass - Google Glass is a
wearable computer featuring a
head-mounted display in the form of
eyeglasses. The Google glasses
function as a hands-free
smartphone, letting users access the
mobile internet browser, camera,
maps, calendar, and other apps by
voice commands.
2.) Oculus Rift
The Oculus Rift itself is a pair of
virtual reality goggles,
complete with headphones,
that connect to a gaming PC or
laptop. But the real magic isn't
in the goggles themselves, but
rather the system that's able to
track your entire body —
translating any movement into
whatever game you're playing
3). Lechal gps shoes - The
Bluetooth-enabled smart
footwear will sync up with an
app on the user's phone, which
is connected to Google Maps.
Once a user inputs their
destination, the app will
command the left and right
shoes to vibrate, indicating the
user which way to turn to
reach their destination.
4). Fin Ring- a "gesture-based
control" technology that lets you
switch, scroll, click, tap or swipe
any smart devices connected to
it with just the user's thumb. It
has a Bluetooth already installed
to it for connecting to smart
devices. It works by making
gestures within the user's palm
or fingers, just like a mobile
phone.
5). UP-a smart wristband designed
as a fitness tracker. It is an
advanced pedometer that records
all the user's activity's data received
by every step you take. It can
record how many distance the user
tackled, it can record how many
steps you made, and can it even
record how many calories does the
user burned having the basis of his
age, height and gender.
6). Cicret Bracelet a waterproof,
smart wristband that makes the
user's arm its own screen. It has its
own pico projector, Bluetooth and
WiFi connectivity, a USB port,
processor, and a proximity
sensors. These sensors will be the
one to send the movements being
done to where it is connected. It
works by connecting it to a mobile
phone via Bluetooth.
3D Environment

3D environment is a nature having the

three dimensional properties length
width and depth. This provides a
perception having a fictional character
realistic looks
Some Product of 3D Environment

1). 3D Printing - also

know as additive
manufacturing is a
procedure of printing a
CAD of the computer
aided design file into a
three dimensional
object
2). Holograms - a three
dimensional Image formed
by light beams that is
following a series or
patterns holograms are
image that is being
projected by a projector
and appear that it is
present
3). 3D Film - A movie
having a stereoscopic
effect stereoscopy is a
method of enhancing
the image's depth by
means of stereopsis
should be used while
watching a 3D film
4). 3D Animation - The
process of creating a
series of drawing or
sketches having the
three dimensional
aspect to provide an
illusion of movement
Ubiquitous Learning
Ubiquitous Learning is the way of learning through
the objects that are present everywhere, more
specifically associated with technologies. It is also way
of learning that is "situated and immersive", from
going to the library to search for information, to
search what you need through the internet, from
having a traditional way of learning, to a more
advanced method.
7 Characteristics of Ubiquitous learning
1. To blur the traditional institutional
2. To shift the balance of agency
3. To recognize learner differences and use them as a
productive resource.
4.To broaden the range and mix the representational modes.
5. To connect one's own thinking into the social mind of
distributed cognition.
6. To develop conceptualizing capacities
7. To enhance collaborative knowledge culture
Ubiquitous Computing
Technologies are products of having advanced
science and knowledge to
provide us, the users, assistance and services. It is
invented for a better living.
Technologies such as computers, mobile phones,
and vehicles were invented
through our knowledge.
A media and information
literate person
A media and information literate person and
everyone should have the opportunity to
become one can decode, appraise, examine and
produce both print and electronic media. The
vital objective of media and information literacy
is critical autonomy affiliation to all media and
information.
A Media and Information Literate Person
Adds to the Above Five Qualities of Media:
1. Media are constructed and construct reality;
2. Media have commercial implications;
3. Media have ideological and political implications;
4. Form and content are related in each medium,
each of which has a unique aesthetic, codes and
conventions;
5. Receivers negotiate meaning in media.
Improved Quality of Life
Given all the consolidation of media
companies, it is simple to doubt whether the
news we get from the major media is the full
story or not. After all, it's not an erratic
occasion to hear more about the latest
celebrity scandal or death than a political
uprising somewhere in the world.
.
Greater Political Participation
Research has constantly found that people who
consume more news media have a better probability of
being civically and politically engaged across a diversity
of measures. In an era when the public's time and
attention is progressively directed toward platforms such
as Facebook and Twitter, scholars are seeking to assess
the still-emerging relationship between social media use
and public engagement.
Better Economic Oppurtunities
The accomplishment of social media is grounded on
one thing and that is conversation. When you use social
media sites for your business, it allows you to amplify
the conversation (or buzz) that environs your brand.
You must comprehend; however, that if you are using
social media platforms suitably, you must be as devoted
to the conversations through social media as your
customers are.
Improved Learning Environment
Media can be a constituent of vigorous learning
strategies such as group discussions or case
studies. It could be a film clip, a song you hear on
the radin podcast of a lecture or newspaper
article. Students can also create their own. For
example, student video projects can be an
influential learning experience
The Advantages of Media for Students

1. Popular media (films, music, YouTube) are a familiar

medium to students that helps gain attention and
uphold interest in the perceptions under discussion.
Students can see them in action.
2. Students can sharpen their analytical skills by
examining media using the theories and concepts
they are studying.

3. Students can experience worlds beyond their

own, especially if the media are sharply different
from their local environment.
More Cohesive Social Units
Back then phones were with old style dials. There weren't
even answering machines. If you called someone and they
didn't answer the phone, you had to call back and try to
catch them in real time. When a call came in, there was no
caller ID. You just picked it up and said, "Hello." It was
sometimes hard to catch up to people, so you had to hand
write and send a letter to communicate when you were
both leading busy lives
Influences on the Youth
Social networking services depend on active
participation: users take part in activities and
discussions on a site, and upload, modify or
create content. This supports creativity and
can support discussion about ownership of
content and data management
