29. The median of an equilateral triangle is increasing at the rate of 2√3 cm/s. Find the rate at which 3
its side is increasing.

32. Read the text carefully and answer the questions: 4
Priya and Surya are playing Ludo at home during Covid-19. While rolling the dice, Priya’s sister
Surya observed and noted the possible outcomes of the throw every time belongs to set {1, 2, 3, 4,
5, 6}. Let A be the set of players while B be the set of all possible outcomes. A = {S, D}, B = {1,
2, 3, 4, 5, 6}

(i) Priya wants to know the number of functions from A to B. How many number of functions are
possible?

(ii) Raji wants to know the number of relations possible from A to B. How many numbers of relations
are possible?

(iii) Let R : B → B be defined by R = {(1, 1), (1, 2), (2, 2), (3, 3), (4, 4), (5, 5), (6, 6)} then R is which
type of relation?

(iv) Let R be a relation on B defined by R = {(1,2), (2,2), (1,3), (3,4), (3,1), (4,3), (5,5)}. Then R is

An Apache helicopter of the enemy is flying along the curve given by y = x2 + 7. A soldier,
placed at (3, 7) want to shoot down the helicopter when it is nearest to him.

(i) If P (x1, y1) be the position of a helicopter on curve y = x2 + 7, then find distance D from P to
soldier place at (3, 7).

(ii) Find the critical point such that distance is minimum.

(iii) Verify by second derivative test that distance is minimum at (1, 8).

(iv) Find the minimum distance between soldier and helicopter?

34. Read the text carefully and answer the questions: 4


The slogans on chart papers are to be placed on a school bulletin board at the points A, B and C
displaying A (Follow Rules), B (Respect your elders) and C (Be a good human). The
coordinatesof these points are (1, 4, 2), (3, -3, -2) and (-2, 2, 6), respectively.

(i) If a⃗ , b ⃗ and c ⃗ be the position vectors of points A, B, C, respectively, then find |a⃗ + b ⃗ + c |⃗ .
