III. PROCEDURE:

Teacher’s Activities Student’s Activities

A. Introduction
Prayer
Good morning class, may I ask everyone to (Everybody stands)
please stand and let us pray Our father in heaven…, Amen.

Greetings
Good morning class.
Good afternoon, Sir.
Good afternoon classmates.
Checking of Attendance
Who is absent for today?
Very good! None, Sir.

Review
So, How is everyone's class?
Are you great today? We’re fine, Sir!

What have you learned from our previous

topic about electricity?
Okay Edmon, What have you learned?
I have learned that electricity has many
sources and there are many ways to
generate electricity.

B. Motivation
(Show a video of a person doing a simple
circuit.)

What do you observe in the video?

Yes, Julia? I have observed that the man is connecting
Excellent! some wires and the bulb lit.

Would you like to know how did they

connect it? Yes, Sir.

What do you think is our lesson for today? Our lesson for today is about electric
circuits.
C. Lesson Proper:
a. Presentation of Lesson
ACTIVITY
Divide the class into 5 groups. (Students will connect the parts of the

ANALYSIS (Students raise their hands)

What is an electric circuit? Sir, It is a complete path where electricity
Yes, Ben? flows
Excellent, Ben!

How would you define an electric circuit in

your own words?
Yes, Jess? Sir, An electric circuit is a complete path that
Perfect! lets electricity flow through all the parts to
(An electric circuit is a complete path make things work.
allowing electricity flow.)

The next part of a circuit is what we call the

source, the source provides the electrical
pressure, or voltage, in a circuit, enabling
the flow of electric current. This can be
either Alternating Current (AC) or Direct
Current (DC).
Which part of the circuit is the Source?
Yes, Kristel? The battery, Sir
Perfect answer!

The next one is the conducting path, such as

wires, carries the electricity from the source
to the load, allowing current to flow through
the circuit
Which part is the conducting
path/conductor?
Yes, Jimmy Is it the Wire, Sir
Correct, Jimmy!

The controlling device manages or interrupts

the flow of electricity, depending on when it
is activated by the user.
Which part is the controlling device?
Yes, Katrina Switch Sir
Excellent!

Lastly, the load is the part of the circuit that

receives electricity and converts it into
another form of energy, such as light, heat,
or motion.
Which part is the Load? The bulb/LED light
Yes, Nariel
Very Good!

Now, who can give me the 4 essential parts

of simple circuits? The Source, conducting path, Controlling
Yes, Steph? device, and the Load, Sir.
Very good!

Anyways, there are two types of circuits,

parallel and series circuits.

A series circuit has components arranged

in a single path, so electricity flows through
each part one after the other. If one part
fails, the entire circuit stops working.
A parallel circuit provides multiple paths for
electricity, so if one path fails, the other parts
can still function.

Did you get it, class? Yes, Sir?

Again, what is the difference between
parallel and series circuits?
Yes, Angelika! In a series circuit, all the parts are
connected in one path, so if one-part stops
working, the whole circuit won’t work. But in
a parallel circuit, there are different paths for
the electricity, so even if one part fails, the
other parts can still work.
Very Good Angelika!

Before we dive deeper into how electrical

circuits work, let me ask you this: What do
you think are the most important factors to
consider when working with electricity?
Safety, right? Yes Sir, We need to consider the safety
And that’s exactly why it’s essential to when we are working with electricity.
understand the
Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), mandated
by Republic Act No. 7920. The PEC sets
strict guidelines for the safe design,
installation, and maintenance of electrical
systems, ensuring protection against
hazards like fires and shocks. As we study
electrical circuits, remember that safety
should always be your top priority, both in
theory and practice."

Again, what is the Republic Act that Republic Act.7920 of the Philippine
considers safety and protection against any Electrical Code (PEC)
hazards?
GENERALIZATION
Alright, Class, do you have a question about
our topic for today? None, Sir
Since you don’t have any questions, I’m the
one who will ask.
How would you define an electric circuit in (Student raised their hands)
your own words? An electric circuit is a complete path that
Well said, Mark! lets electricity flow through all the parts to
make things work.

What is the function of the Source? The source provides the electric power
Excellent, Joy!

What is the function of the Conducting path/

conductor? Sir, carries the electricity from the source to
Okay, very good Zack! the load, allowing current to flow through the
circuit.

The function of the Controlling device is Sir, its function is to control or cuts the flow
what? of electricity.
Excellent, Jazelle

What is the function of the Load? Sir, it is the receiver of electricity.

Perfect answer, Elvin!

How important are the parts of the electric Each part of the electric circuit is very
circuit? important because if one part is missing, the
circuit will not function properly.
Again, class what are the 4 essential parts of Sir the first one is Source, conducting path,
the circuit? controlling device and lastly, the load.
Well said, Sheryll

Now what are the two types of circuits? Parallel and Series Circuit
Excellent, Class!

APPLICATION
So how does electricity work?
Why don't we find out through an activity?
Would you like that? Yes, Sir!
Our Activity is called:
LIGHT ME UP!
So, the first thing you do is go with your (Students go with their respective groups)
respective groups and sit together.
Now, before we start, let us remember the
acronym CAR:
We must remember to be careful, aware,
and responsible.
Is it clear class?
So here is the procedure! Yes, Sir!
Procedure: Creating a Simple Electrical
Circuit
Materials Needed:
 1 Battery (e.g., 9V)
 1 Light Bulb (e.g., 5V incandescent or
LED bulb)
 1 Switch
 Electrical wires
 Electrical tape (optional)
 Wire strippers (optional)
Steps:
Please read everyone
.

Is it clear class? (All students read the procedure)

1. Prepare the Materials:
a. Make sure you have all the
components: battery, bulb,
switch, and wires.
b. If needed, strip the ends of the
wires using wire strippers to
expose the metal.
Yes, Sir!
(Students start to prepare their materials)
Next, is to? (He asks his students to read)
2. Connect the Light Bulb to the
Circuit:
a. Take one wire and connect
one end to the positive
terminal of the battery (usually
marked with a "+" sign).
b. Attach the other end of this
wire to one terminal of the light
(Teacher explains the next procedure) bulb. This forms the first part
Do you follow class? of the circuit.
Yes, Sir
The third one is to install the switch
3. Install the Switch:
a. Take another wire and
connect one end to the second
terminal of the light bulb.
(Teacher explains and does the next step) b. Connect the other end of this
wire to one switch terminal.
Everyone kindly read! (Students start to install their switches)
4. Complete the Circuit with the
Battery:
a. Take the last wire and connect
one end to the second
terminal of the switch.
b. Connect the other end of this
wire to the negative terminal of
(Teacher does the next procedure) the battery (marked with a "-"
sign).
Do you follow class? (Students connect their circuit battery)
Now for the last part let us test your circuit! Yes Sir!
5. Test the Circuit:
a. Flip the switch. If the circuit is
complete, the light bulb should
light up.
b. If the bulb does not light up,
check the connections,
ensuring all wires are securely
connected and that the battery

If doesn’t work kindly check the connections Yes, Sir!
if they are surely secured and connected. Okay Sir!
