Count Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy was born on

9 September 1828 – 20 November 1910). He
was a russian nobelist, who was famous for
writing the books of peace and war. He was a
christian who believed in peace and no
violence. Talking about his family his mother
and father died when he was 2 years old. Even
though he was adopted he had difficult and
tough childhood.
Summary of the story
In this story we can read about how karma can hit us anytime.
It is about how a man went to jail without doing the crime and
while he was in jail how he changed himself and tried to be a better
person. It also shows how to forgive a person and move on in life
waiting karma to hit them.
Aksionov is a main character in the story.
One day he decided to go Nizhny fair and met a merchant and that
merchant was killed and the police jailed him. He was in jail for 26

Analysis

In my point of view i like how this story indirectly gives us the knowledge about karma and how
karma works and how one day everyone have to pay soon or later. This story reinforces the biblical
massage that when the world is up against you, the god alone will always know the truth and is
waiting for a right time for everything.Aksionov is falsely imprisoned for 26 years for a crime he did
not commit but puts his trust in God.
Conclusion
Tolstoy used a nice style in writing the story that
interact the reader to read the whole story.Throughout
the short story, he pointed on some perspectives such as
religion, society and politician. Through the
characteristics of Aksionov, he viewed that people must
believe in God and his power. He showed us that some
time you cannot use what you have in society.
Aksionov was rich, he had two shops and a house, but
at the end he couldn’t use them and even lived with his
family. In addition, although he was innocent, but he
and his wife couldn’t win the court because they did
not have witness.
