another point 10 m vertically above the first, its angle of elevation is 45 0. Find the height of

14. Prove that tangents at the extreme ends of any chord make equal angles with the chord.
15. A horse is tied to a peg at one corner of a square shaped grass field of side 15 m by
means of a 5 m long rope. Find:
i) the area of that part of the field in which the horse can graze.

ii) the increase in the grazing area, if the rope were 10 m long instead of 5 m (π = 3.14 )

16. In figure, ABC is a right-angled triangle, right-angled at A. Semicircles are drawn on AB,
AC and BC as diameters. Find the area of the shaded region.

19. Read the following and answer the questions. 4×1=4
Governing council of a local public development authority of Dehradun decided to build an
adventurous playground on the top of a hill, which will have adequate space for parking.
After survey, it was decided to build rectangular playground, with a semi-circular area
allotted for parking at one end of the playground. The length and breadth of the rectangular
playground are 14 units and 7 units, respectively. There are two quadrants of radius 2
units on one side for special seats.

Based on the above information, answer the following questions:

Anita purchased a new building for her business. Being in the prime location, she decided
to make some more money by putting up an advertisement sign for a rental ad income
on the roof of the building.

From a point P on the ground level, the angle of elevation of the roof of the building is 300
and the angle of elevation of the top of the sign board is 450. The point P is at a distance
of 24 m from the base of the building.

On the basis of the above information, answer the following questions:
