KALIMAT PENGANDAIAN

A. Pengertian

Conditional sentence adalah complex sentence(kalimat majemuk) yang dibentuk dari subordinate
clause yang diawali dengan subordinate conjunction if berupa condition (syarat) dan main clause berupa
result/consequence (hasil).

Conditional sentence menurut rumus dan fungsinya dibagi menjadi 3 type, yaitu type 1, type 2 dan type 3.
Yang dimaksud dengan Conditional Sentence itu sendiri adalah gabungan dari dua kalimat dimana salah
satunya berkedudukan sebagai kalimat syarat, dan yang lainnya adalah akibat atau hasil dari pelaksanaan
syarat tersebut. Misalnya, jika nanti aku lulus Ujian dengan nilai 100 semua, maka aku akan traktir semua
teman-teman sekelas. Jika syaratnya yaitu: lulus terpenuhi, maka akibat atau hasilnya: saya akan mentraktir,
jika tidak lulus, maka saya tidak akan mentraktir. Jadi selalu ada Jika (If).

B. Fungsi Conditional Sentence.

Rumus Conditional Sentence terbagi ke dalam 3 type tergantung dari tingkat kemungkinan terjadinya atau
terlaksananya syarat yang diajukan. (Jika kamu ingin mempelajari penjelasan secara lebih jelasnya silahkan

Conditional sentence type 0

Tipe ini biasanya disebut sebagai zero conditional sentences.

Tipe kalimat ini digunakan ketika hasil atau konsekuensi dari kondisi terwujud alias memaparkan sebuah
kebeneran (general truth) dan fakta ilmiah.

Rumus Conditional Sentence Type 0

If + Subject + simple present, Subject + simple present.

Pengertian Conditional Sentence Type 1

Conditional sentence type 1 adalah conditional sentence yang digunakan ketika result / consequence (hasil)
dari condition (syarat) memiliki kemungkinan untuk terwujud di masa depan karena condition-nya realistik
untuk dipenuhi.

Pengertian Conditional Sentence Type 2

Conditional type 2 ini digunakan sebagai aplikasi kejadian masa sekarang atau present yang akan terjadi jika
kondisi yang ada berbeda.

Rumus Conditional Sentence Type 2

If + Subjek +V.2/Were +S + M2 + V.1

M2 (Modal bentuk 2) : Would, could

Pengertian Conditional Sentence Type 3

Merupakan aplikasi kejadian masa lampau atau simple past tense, kejadian yang harus sudah dipenuhi di
masa lalu. Terkadang, di masa lampau kita mempunyai keinginan yang tidak dapat kita wujudkan. Lalu kita
ingin bercerita kepada teman atau orang lain.

Conditional Sentences ada beberapa jenis. Berikut adalah jenis jenis dari Conditional Sentences dan
penggunaanya

Conditional Sentences Type 1

Pengertian Conditional Sentences jenis 1

Adalah sebuah kalimat pengandaian yang digunakan untuk mengandaikan sesuatu yang belum terjadi,
sehingga kemungikan besar akan terjadi pada masa depan. Contohnya dalam bahasa Indonesia seperti ini
seandainya kalian siswa kelas 3 sma dan kalian belajar dengan rajin ketika kelas tiga ( saat ini dibicarakan)
maka secara otomatis anda akan lulus dengan nilai yang bagus. Sehingga kalimat pengandaiany seperti ini “
jika saya belajar dengan rajin maka saya akan lulus dengan nilai memuaskan” atau “ jika saya tidak belajar
dengan rajin maka nilai saya akan jelek” dan kejadian ini belum berlaku.

Fakta Conditonal Sentences type 1

Karena Conditional Sentences type 1 belum terjadi maka faktanya juga belum bisa dipastikan.perhatikan IF
Fina gets up early, she will have breakfast ( kalimat ini belum terjadi sehinga Fina bisa bangun pagi bisa
tidak, seandainya Fina bangun pagi maka secara otomats dia akan bisa sarapan.

Keterangan diatas mewajibkan kita untuk mengetahui simple present tense dan simple future tense untuk bisa

Penggunaan Conditional Sentences type 3

Tipe ini menjelaskan tentang sebuah peristiwa pengandaian dalam masa lalu dan telah terjadi pada masa lalu,
sehingga sudah tidak mungkin terjadi . misalnya saja ilustrasi seperti ini umur kalian sudah 30 tahun dan
kalian tidak kuliah karena tidak lulus sma maka kalimat pengandaainnya adalah seperti ini “ jika saya lulus
SMA maka saka akan kuliah “.

IF Past Perfect, Subject + Would/Should/might, could + Simple present perfect. Atau bisa dibalik,
sehingga IF berada ditengah dan menghilangkan tanda “Koma”
