There are many ways in which we can be peacemakers

One way is to respect and tolerate the opinions and desires of others. Many
quarrels and arguments arise because some people disagree with the opinions of others.
Wars about religion have arisen because one party who has different beliefs and
practices would not respect the religion of others. Every person has a right to his/her
opinion. However contrary another opinion may seem, a person should not take offense
just because others do not think the way he/she does.

Disagreements arise because our views and desires conflict with those of others. At
home, two children quarrel because neither one will give way to the other over some
things. This is the same way wars start between nations when they contradict each other
certain matters. If only all of us are willing to understand and respect others and try to
give them their fair share at home, in school, in the community and the world at large,
we should be able to maintain peace.
