According to The New York Times, the Sudanese military and its allied forces have
used internationally banned chemical weapons against the Rapid Support Forces in
various regions of Sudan, endangering the lives of innocent civilians. Sudanese
civilians have witnessed irsthand the horrifying effects of these destructive
weapons in areas such as El-Fashir, Khartoum, Omdurman, Shuq Libya, Qandahar,
and Al-Jazirah, where victims’ bodies were charred and torn apart, and buildings
were reduced to rubble.
These crimes, alongside the indiscriminate bombing of civilians and the use of
starvation as a weapon of war, reveal the brutality and inhumanity of this regime.
With more than 150,000 people killed, over 11 million displaced, and famine
spreading among the population, Sudan has become the site of the world’s worst
humanitarian disaster.
We urgently call upon the United Nations, the UN Security Council, the African
Union, and the European Commission to:Launch an immediate and independent
1. international investigation to verify the extent of chemical weapons use in Sudan,
identify affected areas, and hold those responsible accountable.
2. Prosecute General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and all those involved in these heinous
crimes and ensure they face international justice.
3. Provide immediate protection for civilians and guarantee they are not subjected to
further atrocities involving these banned weapons.
We afirm that this situation demands urgent global action. Failure to confront
these crimes would constitute a betrayal of humanitarian values and international
laws. The international community must act decisively now to stop this massacre
and protect the Sudanese people from further devastation.
The United Civil Forces stand irmly with the people of Sudan in their time of
suffering. We will not rest until justice is achieved, perpetrators of these heinous
crimes are held accountable, and Sudan enjoys peace and dignity.
