1. Introduction
This technical report captures the result of the integration of the LITEON FlexFi indoor radio unit
and SRS’ srsRAN 5G Enterprise CU/DU solutions.

2. Test Setup
The tests were conducted with the srsRAN CU/DU codebase based on srsRAN Project version
24.04. The CU/DU was running on a Dell XR12 with a 3rd-gen Intel Xeon CPU. Both RU and DU
were connected to a Falcon RX fronthaul switch with integrated PTP grandmaster. Open5gs has
been used as 5GC for all tests except the 4T 100MHz in which Amarisoft MME has been used
due to higher UPF performance. Iperf UDP was used to generate data traffic to/from the UE.
The tests were carried out over the air (OTA) in a lab environment. UE and RU distance was
approx. 1m. Due to the lab location and non-conducted setup there was also some RF
interference.

3. Test Results
3.1 Result Summary
We’ve tested with cell bandwidths of 20, 40 and 100 MHz. All configurations worked well and the
UE could find the cell and attach. We’ve tested with 1, 2, and 4 Transmit antennas in the
Downlink (1T, 2T, 4T). All configurations worked well in the downlink with maximum throughput
for the 100 MHz 4T achieving 1.4Gbit/s. This rate is however only achieved in excellent
conditions and good placement of the RU in approx. 1m away from the UE. Figure 3 shows the
throughput scaling when MIMO layers are increased.
Figure 3. Downlink Throughput with verifying number of MIMO layers.
In the uplink we have achieved acceptable results. We’ve observed a significant difference in
received power (up to 30dB) for antenna port 0 compared to antenna port 1, 2, and 3. We’ve also
observed that configuring more than 1 receiver antenna (to allow receive diversity) results in
instabilities. The optimal RU performance is therefore achieved with configuration 2T1R or 4T1R
using receive antenna 1.
LITEON is currently investigating the issue with another unit.
