Report for Incident 2024-014368, Domestic Battery
On 6/7/24 at approximately 0053 hours, | was dispatched to XXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXX
in reference to a DOMESTIC BATTERY.
Upon my arrival, | contacted ROADECKER D. WATTS and XXXXXX X, XXXXXXXX,
who both advised me that they had solved their argument and did not need police
assistance. While speaking with both subjects, | observed them to be intoxicated with
open alcoholic drinks inside the residence; both subjects had thick, slurred speech, |
could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from their breath, and both
subjects had trouble maintaining balance and walking within the residence
XXXXXX stated that he and ROADECKER were involved in a verbal-only argument at
approximately 1630 hours and 1800 hours. XXXXXX stated he and ROADECKER had
both left the residence and later met in downtown Alton following the initial argument
XXXXXX stated they both ignored each other, then later met back at their residence at
an unknown time, where they continued to argue due to ROADECKER “pushing his
buttons.” XXXXXX stated during a verbal argument, he started yelling in
ROADECKER'S face, causing ROADECKER to push him onto the couch. XXXXXX
stated this push caused a scratch on his neck. XXXXXX stated he pushed
ROADECKER back and then was unable to provide further details of what occurred.
XXXXXX'X account of this incident was inconsistent, with it changing multiple times
from ROADECKER pushing him first to XXXXXX pushing ROADECKER first. XXXXXXwas also hesitant and unwilling or unable to provide further details of the incident.
XXXXXX declined medical attention
| contacted ROADECKER, who stated he and XXXXXX both pushed each other in the
living room area of the residence. ROADECKER stated he attempted to push XXXXXX
out of the door during the argument, but nothing else occurred. ROADECKER stated
XXXXXX pushed him first and began the physical altercation. ROADECKER declined
medical attention.
XXXXXX and ROADECKER stated they would not be desirous of criminal charges.
Of note, while initially speaking with ROADECKER and XXXXXX, they attempted to talk
over each other while in the same room. Once Officer Archer arrived on scene,
ROADECKER and XXXXXX were separated and spoken to in separate rooms. Once
they were separated, they did not scream at one another, threaten to harm one another
any further, or attempt to cause further harm to each other.
