Broadway St. Alton, IL 62002 Phone (618) 463- 3505 email [email protected] Fax (618) 463-1967 Gonerated on 011872025 @ 11:07:38 Incident 2024-014368 Domestic Battery Reported Friday, June 7, 2024 @ 00:52:24 by a 911 Cell call Occurred Friday, June 7, 2024 @ 00:52:24 At XXX XXOXKK XX, Alton, IL Entered By D241 Reed, Toni R Reference Number 24-14376 Officer/Unit Assigned 2103 Averbeck, Allen J Report for Incident 2024-014368, Domestic Battery On 6/7/24 at approximately 0053 hours, | was dispatched to XXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXX in reference to a DOMESTIC BATTERY. Upon my arrival, | contacted ROADECKER D. WATTS and XXXXXX X, XXXXXXXX, who both advised me that they had solved their argument and did not need police assistance. While speaking with both subjects, | observed them to be intoxicated with open alcoholic drinks inside the residence; both subjects had thick, slurred speech, | could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from their breath, and both subjects had trouble maintaining balance and walking within the residence XXXXXX stated that he and ROADECKER were involved in a verbal-only argument at approximately 1630 hours and 1800 hours. XXXXXX stated he and ROADECKER had both left the residence and later met in downtown Alton following the initial argument XXXXXX stated they both ignored each other, then later met back at their residence at an unknown time, where they continued to argue due to ROADECKER “pushing his buttons.” XXXXXX stated during a verbal argument, he started yelling in ROADECKER'S face, causing ROADECKER to push him onto the couch. XXXXXX stated this push caused a scratch on his neck. XXXXXX stated he pushed ROADECKER back and then was unable to provide further details of what occurred. XXXXXX'X account of this incident was inconsistent, with it changing multiple times from ROADECKER pushing him first to XXXXXX pushing ROADECKER first. XXXXXX was also hesitant and unwilling or unable to provide further details of the incident. XXXXXX declined medical attention | contacted ROADECKER, who stated he and XXXXXX both pushed each other in the living room area of the residence. ROADECKER stated he attempted to push XXXXXX out of the door during the argument, but nothing else occurred. ROADECKER stated XXXXXX pushed him first and began the physical altercation. ROADECKER declined medical attention. XXXXXX and ROADECKER stated they would not be desirous of criminal charges. Of note, while initially speaking with ROADECKER and XXXXXX, they attempted to talk over each other while in the same room. Once Officer Archer arrived on scene, ROADECKER and XXXXXX were separated and spoken to in separate rooms. Once they were separated, they did not scream at one another, threaten to harm one another any further, or attempt to cause further harm to each other. ROADECKER agreed to sleep in the upstairs bedroom and XXXXXX agreed to sleep on the couch. Prior to leaving, | observed ROADECKER walk upstairs, advised him to remain upstairs and | exited the residence. | observed XXXXXX< to have red marks on the left side of his neck, starting at the center of his throat and moving towards the back of his head. | observed a scratch on the back-left side of his neck, which contained a red liquid-like substance suspected to be blood. XXXXXX stated this injury was caused by ROADECKER pushing him with one of his hands and stated several times he was not choked or strangled. | observed ROADECKER to have a discolored circular mark on the top left side of his head. | observed a small scratch in the center of this mark, which was suspected to be a bruise. ROADECKER suspected this injury occurred while he and XXXXXX pushed each other in the doorway. | photographed ROADECKER and XXXXXX'X injury using my department-issued cellphone, and the photographs were uploaded to CommandCentral Evidence. XXXXXX and ROADECKER have been dating for approximately three (3) to four (4) months, care for no children, and have never been involved in physical altercations. | advised both parties on how to obtain an Order of Protection Based on both parties having injuries, conflicting statements on how the physical altercation started, and no independent witnesses, no criminal charges for Domestic Battery are authorized.
