Read the names of plants below;
Nara Gumamela Rose Sunflower Water lily lotus Hyacinth
Where do these plants live? What do you call those plants that live and survive in water?
How about the plants that live on land? Do they have the same body parts?
Presentation
(Put pictures of terrestrial plant)
A terrestrial plant isa plant that grows on,in,or from land. Some terrestrial plant are small others
are big. They grow in different places some terrestrial plants grow directly in soil, others grow on
rocks, others cling to the fence while most number of plants are found in the field.
(Aquatic plant)
Aquatic plants are plants that have adapted to living within aquatic environments. They are also
referred to as hydrophytes these plants require greater special adaptations for living submerged in
water or at the waters surface. Aquatic plants can only grow in water or in soil that is permanently
saturated with water. They are of different kinds, some of them are alike normal land plants, while other
type of plant are different.
Plants adapt or adjust to their surroundings, this helps them to live and grow. A particular place or a
specific habitat calls for specific conditions helps the plants to survive.
Over time, plants have made remarkable adaptations to suit the habitats in which they live. These are
specialized structures that are important to plants in order to adapt to their environment. Thorns and
hairs are some of the specialized structures of plants not all plants have thorns and hairs. The water lily
leaves are flat and broad. Water lilies have wide flat leaves that helps distribute weight over a large area
thus helping them float.
Plants living in different places are exposed to varied conditions however; their structures are suited to
particular needs.
Analysis
