3
Why KNX?

• KNX is a communication standard that allows electrical equipment in

buildings to communicate via one common language.

• Therefore KNX devices (irrespective of brand) - from pushbuttons,

sensors and lights to central heating facilities and other appliances -
work together using one intelligent management system to provide your
building with benefits such as more comfort, security and energy saving.

• So, KNX is a worldwide standard for building management system:

open to any manufacturer and allowing for high system flexibility.

• And KNX is growing fast. First specified in 2002 it has now more than
300 members and is already the most used open protocol for buildings in
Europe and the Middle East ( see further www.knx.org ).

4
New lighting solutions enhance
the performance of your building
Lighting accounts for 35% energy consumption in
offices while 80% of lighting is ‘old’ technology:
• New LED lighting systems provide energy
savings, superior light quality and longer
installation lifetime.

Only 1% of the buildings worldwide use controls to

manage lighting.
• New, easy to use and install controls systems
deliver clear benefits such as further energy
savings, comfort, and adaptability of the lighting
installation.

New lighting solutions help to

• improve your building appearance and comfort,
while lowering energy cost, reducing CO2 and
contributing to green building certification.
