SYSTEM LAND SCAPE (SYSTEM

ENVIRONMENT)
 In SAP typically we can have below types of servers depends on organizations.

 Development server
 Quality server
 Production Server
 The development servers have multiple clients.

 Golden client
 Development
 SAND box
 The quality server can have multiple clients.
 Quality client for Integration testing
 Quality client for User Acceptance testing
 Quality client for Regression testing Manually or by using tools viz
HPALM etc.,
 Quality client for training
 The production server can have only one client that is
 Production client

DEVELOPNENT SERVER:
Golden client:

 All the configuration, customization and program changes can be done only in the
golden client.
 We cannot post the transaction data in the golden client
 The master data which is used in the configuration that can be a created in the golden
client.
Example
 GL A/C master data
 Cost element master data
 Profit master data

 Other relevant master data created directly in the production client.


Example
 Vendor master data
 Customer master data
 Asset master data
 Material Master Data
 The configuration settings it will be save under the transport request at the time
saving the configuration.

Purpose of the transport request:


By using the TP request we can copy the settings from golden client to other clients
and from golden clients to quality server client and also from golden clients to
production clients.

Development quality client:

 This client is used for testing purpose or training purpose

SAND BOX

 SAND Box can be used like a play box


 Is the SAND box we can set the configuration, modification of master data . we can
also post the transaction for simulation and testing purpose.
 The SAND box can be use where the consultant is not comfort how the particular
function works , where the consult is not comfort to address particular business
requirement . in such a case we can use the sand box to simulate the business
scenarios and also proof of concept.

Quality server:

Quality client:
 The business users can performing the testing in the quality client
 We can’t do configuration changes and also not possible to adding the new
configuration directly in the quality client . These configurations are performed in
the golden client and copied from golden client to quality client
 We can maintain directly master data, posting transaction data for testing purpose
and also training purpose.

Production server:

Production client:
 Production client can also be called as live system.
 All type of master data maintained directly in the production client.
 All the business transactions posted in to the production client.
 Analysis of business transactions and reports are extracted from the production
client.
 Not possible to modify the configurations and developments directly in the
production client. All the settings are copied through transport request from golden
client to production client
Note : Below login process applicable only for Your ECC ( Below process not
appilicable in my servers)

HOW TO LOGIN INTO THE SYSTEM:

Double Click

Enter password and click on Ok.


All the status should be “Wait” and Start should be “Yes”

SAP Management CONSOLDouble click  EC7  Right click  All tasks  start 
ok
 Enter password  ok
Expand server As ABAPWP  Refresh
Status start
Wait yes
Then the minimize the screen

SAP LOG ON :

Click on sap log on  EC7  Double click


Clients__ 800
User __sap user
Password __XYZ

Log on language En
