1 Introduction
The following is the scope of works for the Consultants.
 Structural analysis and design of Proposed(G+8) 9 Storied Residential Building.
 Sub structure design of Proposed(G+8) 9 Storied Residential Building.
 Preparation of Engineering drawing.
This report summarizes the findings of the consultants on above works.

2 Building Information
The basic building information of Proposed (G+8) 9 Storied Residential Building for Heaven
Builders is provided in Table 2.1: Building information. Based on Architectural design, the
structural scheme is prepared. All structural analysis and design have been performed following
the Latest Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC 2020).

3.2 Building code and standards


 BNBC 2020: Published by Housing and Building Research Institute, Dhaka, Bangladesh-
used for load and load combination.
 ACI 318-08: Published by American Concrete Institute, Farmington Hills, America

3.3 Gravity loads


3.3.1 Dead load
• Self-weight of elements of the structure. (Concrete Unit weight = 24 kN/m^3))
• 30 PSF Floor finish
• Partition wall (as per as-built architectural drawings)

3.3.2 Live load


• 42 PSF live load on Floor
• 31 PSF on roof.
• 100 PSF Live load on Stair

3.4 Lateral loads


3.4.1 Wind load
The minimum design wind load on the building is calculated as per BNBC 2020, Part 6
Chapter 2, Section 2.4. Wind loading parameters considered for this building is listed in
Table 3.4: Wind loading parameters.

4 Structural Analysis
A Finite element model is prepared to analyze and design the building described in
Section 3. The finite element model boundary conditions are described in the following
section.

4.1.2 Boundary Condition

Since the foundation type chosen for this building is Deep (Pile Foundation). The support
at the base of the column is considered Restrained for both Translation (Ux, Uy, UZ) and
Rotation (Rx, Ry, Rz).
