Material Staging in Production Supply Area -

WM /PP Integration
Material Staging in Production Supply Area-WM/PP Integration
Integrating warehouse and production processes through material staging at the production supply area. This
integration will ensure a seamless flow of materials, reduce downtime, and improve overall productivity.

Configuration Process

Storage type for Production supply area (123-Prod. Supply Area)

SPRO -> Logistics Execution -> Warehouse Management -> Interfaces -> Define Production

Click Maintain
Click Assign (319-Mvt. Type Replenishment)

Click PP

Maintain wm request as “X-Create TR upon order release” Under Transport sub screen

Click Warehouse Number

Tick PP Interface Active

Note: We can proceed without checking this indicator also, process flow works as follows;

If checked

Prod. Order -> Transfer stock to Prod. Supply area -> TR -> TO -> Confirm TO -> Goods Issue to Prod. Order

If not checked

Prod. Order -> Goods Issue to Prod. Order -> TR -> TO -> Confirm TO
Test Scenario:

Step 1: Create finished material and components, make sure you have stock for the component material.

(Extend WM, work scheduling, MRP views for materials)

Step 2: Assign Prod. Supply area to work center using transaction CR02

Step 3: Create Control cycle using transaction LPK1

Staging Indicator 1 represents “Items picked against respective production order only”.

Fixed bin created & assigned for prod. Supply area storage type(123) i.e wm-pp-area
Step 4: Create Production Order using transaction CO01

The below component copied from the BOM,

To produce 1 PC of final product we require 25 PC of raw material (wm-pp-raw-mat)

Click on Operations

Work center operation assigned here


Click Release order and save the Order

Step 5: Stage the material with respect to production order in Prod. Supply Area using transaction LP10

Enter Requested Qty and save

Step 6: Check the Open transfer Requirements in transaction LB10

Step 7: Create and confirm TO


Step 8: Check the stock either in LS26 or LX02

As per production requirement 25 PC stagged in Prod. Supply area

Step 9: Goods Issue Against Production order using transaction MIGO

Once material document posted stock automatically consumed to the production form prod. Supply area

Step 10: Check the stock

Available stock 25 PC and 25 PC from prod. Supply area storage type got consumed against the production
order.
