Leota Wrestling Expectations
Welcome to Leota Wrestling for the 2025 season. I look forward to working with you this
season. I believe wrestling is a great sport and can teach us many lessons about
ourselves and life. As we begin the season, I would like to share our team expectations.
I will be going over these expectations over the first several days of our season.
● Practice will be as stated below.
2:45 – 4:10 pm (any school day, except Wednesdays)
That means students are in the room and in practice gear (no jewelry/watches/earrings
etc.), ready to begin. Practice time is limited, please go to the bathroom prior to practice.
● Discipline
Classroom expectations are required in practice. Any disruptions/misbehavior will be
handled (usually push-up position) by coaches in practice. This includes late to practice,
forgetting wrestling gear, or missing practice.
I get updates on student progress/incidents at school from staff, and admin. Should
there be any negative updates (incidents) I would rather hear them from the student
first. This can be done in an email or speak to me at practice.
● Absence/sickness/injury
Students are committing to the team. If you are sick and at school, you are sick enough
to practice. Students need to be the ones contacting me if they will be missing practice.
I understand injuries happen and student safety is a priority. They will get bumps and
bruises from wrestling. Any injuries need to be communicated to coaches. Coaches and
family will then follow any necessary processes for recovery.
● Grades
Students need to be grade eligible. Class is for schoolwork; wrestling practice is for
wrestling, and homework is for home.
Any other questions or concerns please reach out to me.
Thank you,
Victor Camarena
