Part 01 - Indirect Questions

Direct Question: Where is Dora? (Onde está a

Dora?)

Indirect Question: Do you know where Dora is?

(Você sabe onde a Dora está?)

NOT Do you know where is Dora?

Na pergunta indireta acima, a pergunta na verdade é

somente a primeira parte: Do you know...?

A segunda parte “where Dora is” é somente o

• Do you know...? / Do you think...? / Can you tell

me...? / Could you tell me...?

DQ: Should I wear jeans or shorts?

(Eu devo vestir jeans ou bermudas?)

IQ: Do you think I should wear jeans or shorts?

IQ: Could you tell me who you were talking to when I
saw you?
(Você poderia me dizer com quem você estava
falando?)

NOT Could you tell me who were you talking...?

Outras perguntas indiretas:

DQ: When do they go to the gym?

(Quando eles vão na academia?)

IQ: Please tell me when they go to the gym.

NOT Please tell me when do they go to the gym.

DQ: Does Kevin eat meat?

(O Kevin come carne?)

IQ: I would like to know if Kevin eats meat.

DQ: Did we win the game?

(Nós vencemos o jogo?)

IQ: I need to ask you if we won the game.

DQ: Can you help me?
(Você pode me ajudar?)

IQ: I wonder if you can help me.
