With this activity, you are expected to achieve the following learning
outcomes:

Describe innovative assessment trends in English Language Teaching (ELT) that align
with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The activity consists of:

The students individually provide an overview of the Sustainable Development Goals


and their relevance to education. Collaboratively conduct research on innovative
assessment trends in ELT, Share and justify their selected assessment trends in the
forum supported by citations and references

Part 1: Go to the learning environment Unit 1: Sustainable Development Goals and


Innovative ELT Assessment Trends and read the bibliographic references.

Part 2: Trend Selection:

The students individually select one assessment trend from the list provided in annex
1: New Trends in Testing and Evaluation in ELT

The students must explain their choice and its significance for educational settings in
the forum.

Part 3: Collaborative Work Forum:

Provide a definition and their own opinion on the selected trend, supported by up-to-
date bibliographical references on course content unit 1

Explain why the chosen trend is important for students and its potential impact on
education.

After sharing their individual explanations, students work collaboratively in the forum
phase 1 building a comparative chart and provide at least one feedback for peer
‘contributions on time.

The comparative chart must include the definition, purpose, importance, and main
aspects of each trend discussed.

Part 4: Final Submission:

One student will submit a PDF file for the whole group to the Evaluation environment.
This file must include:

-Individual Trend Selection


-Evidence of their participation in the forum.
Feedback peers´çontributions
-The completed comparative chart with citations and references in APA style.

Participate in the social forum titled: Discussion forum: Phase 1 - Selection of


Innovative Assessment Trends. Share your thoughts and insights about the selected
trend from Annex 1: New Trends in Testing and Evaluation in ELT and collaborate in
the construction of the comparative chart.

In the Evaluation Environment, you must:

Upload the final PDF document in the space: Phase 1 Selection of Innovative
Assessment Trends. The file contains the evidences of the students’ participations in

the collaborative forum and the comparative chart including citations and references
in APA style.

Evidence of individual work:


The individual evidence to be submitted is:
• Each student selects one trend for assessment and evaluation from Annex 1
and conducts thorough research about it.
• Before participating in the forum, students should check that it meets all the
requirements mentioned in this activity guide.

Evidence of collaborative work:


The collaborative evidence to be submitted is:
• All group members must participate in the collaborative forum for phase 1 with
their contributions in the development of the activity.
• Each student individually must participate in the creation of the comparative
chart. They must include proper citations and references in APA style.

1. General Guidelines for the Development of Evidences to Submit

For Collaborative evidences, consider the following:

• All members of the group must participate with their contributions in the
development of the activity.

• In each group a single member will be chosen to submit the requested product in
the environment indicated by the teacher.

• Before submitting the requested product, students should check that it meets all
the requirements mentioned in this activity guide.

• Only the members of the group that participated with contributions during the
time assigned for the activity should be included as authors of the submitted
product.

Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must comply
with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity guide.
Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
comply with APA style.

In any case, make sure you comply with the rules and avoid academic plagiarism.
You can review your written products using the Turnitin tool found in the virtual
campus.
